With the introduction in 1954 of the 1.3-litre Giulietta, lfa Romeo established the 'small car, ig performance' formula that would characterize its finest offerings from then on. The Giulietta's arrival caused a sensation; demand outstripped supply at first, ausing Alfa to rethink its production strategy and become, or the first time, high-volume manufacturer. The original Giulietta Sprint Coupé of 1954 was soon joined by Berlina and Spider versions, he latter sporting elegant coachwork designed and built by Pininfarina. In 750-Series form the Veloce versions of both Sprint and Spider came with an up-rated engine equipped with Weber carburettors and producing 90bhp (10 horsepower more than standard) making them the fastest of the mainstream production Giuliettas.
This Giulietta Spider Veloce was owned by my brother in England from 1992 - 2006,it has a 5 speed box, n 2006 I bought it over to New York, nd have enjoyed many years of fun driving.This car has been well maintained, he head was rebuilt in 2010 atDominick European Car repair.
