Description for Alfa Romeo Spider 1978

1978 Spider. 123K. 120K maintenance service done. Local original Colorado car bought from Ralph Schomp Denver dealership. Turn key ready. does not need work. no problems. everything works. passed stringent Boulder emissions test. choke not connected because it does not need it- always starts cold with clean 50W Valvoline Special Racing oil. currently classic car registered ($100/5yrs. ) and was insured until the end of October. Garage stored. I am the third owner and bought the car in 2004 and drove the car for about 4Kmi since then. Last summer I started preparing the car for a new paint respray. I have ALL the original factory parts that were removed or upgraded and service records. Here is a partial list of the work done to this car and I will keep adding to it: engine and transmission rebuilt at 88K by Don Knopp in Denver. new top. roll bar. master brake and clutch cylinders. fuel pumps. Toyo tires. door panels. Work done in the last 4kmi. : replaced fuel injection with Weber carbs. jetted for high altitude-9:1 air/fuel ratio. big valve virgin head. euro cams. replaced duel points with Plex electronic ignition. life time stainless steel Stebro wide three chamber tuned exhaust. grey leather seats with three point seat belts( not installed but included). all new hoses and belts. axel straps. Carrello head light covers with Sylvania super bright head lamps. five BWA wheels( five original factory wheel set included). removed heavy rubber bumpers and replaced them with original 1974 stainless steel bumpers/grill. complete brake replacement with new drilled/slotted rotors/pads/steel brake lines. rear emergency brake shoes. front bearings and tie rods. wheel alignment. brand new Interstate battery/with current warranty. door check straps. trunk and glove box locks. oil sump guard. replaced asbestos heat shield with modern non toxic shield. front end cover. car cover. I am including extra parts that I think might be needed within the next 100K maintenance schedule: brake booster. drive shafts/bearing. trailing arms with new bushings. lower oil pan gasket. rear view mirror/map light. shift boot. '74 Alfa logo floor mats. emergency brake assembly. starter motor bypass relay. light weight radiator fan blade. alternator and maybe other parts. The windshield developed a line crack and there is small section of stitching on the driver’s seat shoulder that needs repair ($20 estimate). One small hole in the spare tire well. I have replaced routine maintenance parts with performance parts and that is an improvement over the factory presentation. This car is ready to drive as is for many years without doing anything to it except oil/fluid /filters changes. light bulbs. check tire pressure. keep battery charged. tighten bolts. clothe wipe clean!Call me for shop talk. 303. 258. 7905 Mark On Dec-14-14 at 16:04:18 PST. seller added the following information:1978 Spider. 123K. 120K maintenance service done. The current paint is factory original and very tough. I was considering a very light midnight blue whisper over the factory black but I was having too much fun just driving it as is. I only drove my car during the summers to work and on mountain day trips to festivals and fairs. After I retired. I have not been able to drive the car as much as I would have liked.
