Description for Alfa Romeo Spider 1967
This car is a nice driver. I've used it regularly. not daily. I've had it on the road for about five years. Before getting on the road. it was painted. chrome redone and I put in a rebuilt 2. 0L engine and brakes. Also. a new wiring harness. Euro tail lights and heater faceplate. heated driver seat. carpeted interior and trunk. Campangnolo wheels. iPod ready stereo. Vinyl dash and knee guards redone and still in excellent shape. Car has no rust. Southern California has been in a drought. so I didn't ever worry about driving in the rain. Therefore. the convertible top is not in the car. but will come with the car. Windshield wiper motor works. but not hooked up and wipers are not on the car. Car stays covered. but the paint is a little worn. no major scratches or dings. Plain black door panels. not original. Transmission pops out of reverse. but smooth through all forward gears. Some of the original parts. like hubcaps. will be with the car. The hood and trunk lid are not original and I do not have them. This is a fun. fast car to drive. not restored and not original. No warranty is implied or stated. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. but I will help if I can. On Nov-17-14 at 12:21:02 PST. seller added the following information:Additional information. Front brakes and rear axle are from a '79. I think. So. 2. 0L brakes and limited slip axle. I don't know the gear ratio. There is no paint bubble. it was a pretty good job. It's just several years old now. I was told by another eBayer. the color is called Straw. I made a mistake and said Hay answering a question. I don't know if that was the original color. No rust. however. there was rust in the frame - front cross member. I had that repaired by a known local guy. It has a mechanical clutch. All new when put in with the engine: clutch disc. pressure plate. TO bearing. flex disc and u-joints on drive shaft. I'll check my records and estimate the miles on the drive train. The engine is strong and timed so the power band starts around 3000RPM. It's a little rough below that. but idles fine. around 800. According to my not-detailed records (which are not verified independently). the drive train has about 5K miles. I changed the oil three times. being vigilant about the new engine. Yokohama tires. still in good shape. less vigilant about rotation. Radiator got a new core. when engine installed. There is no fan shroud. but an elecrical fan on front of radiator for back up. Please forgive the cheap radiator overflow. another precaution. In the engine compartment. there are two relays. one for each headlight. The light switch goes bad on these cars due to the amount of current that runs through it. Using these relays requires less current through the switch. which protects it. Fuse box is now under the dash. I never liked having it so close to the fuellines. I know of one fire becasue of it. Idler gear was rebuilt. so very little play in the steering. There are no tears on the convertible top. but it is worn and the window is rather cloudy. I hope I filled in the gaps from the original description and I'm adding more photos. It's a good car. I hate to sell. I just need the money. Again. no warranty. car is sold AS IS. Thank you for looking.
