Description for Alfa Romeo Spider 1987
Up for sale is my 1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio. It has very low milage, with (just shy of) 44,200 miles, but may go up a little as its still being driven and enjoyed. This Quadrifogio trim level was the top of the line model and came loaded with all the popular options everyone likes to have, along with special 15" wheels, exterior and interior accents. This car also has the desirable removable hard top with all the hardware. I also have 2 sets of original Alfa clover keys. Original Alfa leather owners manual case with all the pamphlets, manual, pen, radio card, etc. I also have the original soft top cover for when the top is down and a Alfa fender cover. When I acquired this Alfa, it was sitting for a long time and it needed a lot of love and attention to get it back on the road. In the past couple months, it's received all of the following:-Fuel tank removed and sent it out for professional cleaning, along with a new battery installed.-Both fuel pumps internal & external with hoses, fuel filter, fuel rail cleaned, new fuel injectors, cold start valve, and fuel pressure regulator (tried to stick with factory Bosh products as availability would allow)-New engine mounts, transmission mount, Ansa center muffler assy and "Stinger" tail pipe. New exhaust gaskets and rubber hangers also installed during service.-Throttle body cleaned, engine decarb performed and fuel tank filled with premium 91oct and a bottle of Seafoam.-New Bosh copper spark plugs, cap & rotor. New spark plug wires, wiper blades, air filter, radiator cap, clutch slave cylinder & hose.-All fluids changed per owners manual, Engine: Bosh oil filter, 7qts Castrol 20w50 engine oil, Transmission: 75w90NS Redline full synthetic gear oil, Diff: Valvoline 75w90 gear oil with LS additive.-Cooling system flushed, brake & clutch system flushed. A/C system recharged (R12 freon)-Four New Goodyear Eagle RS-A 195/60R15 "88 H" rated. Full size spare with matching wheel, jack and tool kit are also present.-New convertible top installed. Also had the Front seats redone to match originalwith a new leather shifter boot installed and they look and feel a amazing!!-New mini power antenna installed with some of the original power antenna pieces to keep it stock looking and function. (original is obsolete and no parts are available)-Had the entire Alfa cleaned and detailed inside & out exterior paint was professionally buffed.
Sorry ahead of time if I missed anything, I'll add more as I go. I have many more pictures available as this listing limited me to only 24. Overall this is a nice Alfa inside and out and everything is working as it should for being 31 years old. That being said, and as nice as it is, it's not perfect. It does have some dings, dents, nicks and markshere and therearound the vehicle. The dash has a small split near the binnacle area. No leaks on the floor, but its a 31 year old original vehicle, so seepage may be present in places. The transmission does have some hit & miss notchiness in first and second gear. After reading a few pages on the Alfa forums, this seems to be a common thing with them and different techniques are advised when shifting along with using the proper gear oil. After changing the transmission fluid with the proper gear oil, this seemed to help, but its still noticeable. It starts, runs and drives good for its age, but Im sure it could benefit from some fine tuning if desired. Just wanted to be upfront and honest about the vehicle, so there are no surprises.
I have a clean and clear Arizona title in hand, if you would like to see and/or inspect the car in person or a shop, that's fine too and I encourage. Just contact me to work out the details. Additional pictures are available upon request or if you request any certain areas up close, let me know. I have the vehicle listed locally and will end listing early if sold in that time.
Open to reasonable offers, low ball ones will be declined.. Shipping if needed will be the buyers responsibility from my zip code in this listing. Thanks...
