1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider finished in Apple Green with Black interior, or Mela Verde with Black Skai interior as confirmed by Alfa's Centro Documentiazone. This extremely well driving Boat Tail Spider is completely rust free and has been well maintained by it's past three enthusiastic owners. The service history dates back many years. It has spent most of it's life in The Carolinas where it was garaged kept the entire time.
The Alfa 1750 dual overhead cam engine has been fitted with dual Weber 40 DCOE 151 Carburetors making this a soulful sounding car with tremendous reliability and performance. No 1968 Alfas were imported to the US due to new Federal Emissions. The Webers were offered on the more powerful and reliable Euro versions. The five speed gearbox shifts effortlessly both upshifting and downshifting with none of the typical notchy feel that some older Alfas tend to have.
While this car has been sympathetically restored, it still retains it's original carpets and Alfa logo rubber floor mats as well as unrestored gauges that give the car more of a well cared for survivor feel. The canvas soft top shows signs of it's age and the car could benefit from a new soft top.
Mechanically, the car is very sound. It starts right up and idles smoothly at 900 RPM. There is no smoke on start up or during hard acceleration. Auto Turismo of New Milford has just performed a minor service and replaced the clutch master cylinder. The car stops well with a nice bite and the help of it's four wheel disc brakes.
The paint has just been professionally detailed and shows very well. The front nose has some stone chips typical for it's age and miles. The engine bay and trunk both are tidy and show well. Period correct Chromadora five spoke light alloy wheels, Hella H4 headlamps and Yellow Euro tail lamps all add a distinct touch that add to the incredible personality this car possesses.
It's RUST FREE original structure provides a solid base for or reasonable upgrade to trophy status or used as is and to be enjoyed on long weekend jaunts, vintage rallies or to attend car shows and gatherings.
It is fairly priced and ready for delivery to it's next new fortunate owner.
