Description for Alfa Romeo Spider 1976

I found this Spider locally and it belonged to an owner that unfortunately passed away about 10 years ago left the car sitting in a garage all that time. His brother sold this to me at a pretty good price. I got it home and first step was to evacuate all the old fuel and clean the tank install all new fuel lines, fuel filter, and fuel pump. Changed the rest of the fluids differential, engine oil, coolant, gearbox, etc... When I picked it up the front wheels were locked up so due to the rotors being so rusty I then proceeded to tear down the brake system in the front install new rotors, new brake lines, changed out the seals in the calipers and bled the system. I then pulled the distributor installed new points, static timed it, and installed a new battery. Viola it started!!!
Here are some other details in a list:
THE BAD:
1. The temperature gauge is not reading-pinned at 0 runs at normal operating temperature has not overheated since I've had it
2. The heater core has been bypassed-not sure why and the blower is not operating
3. There are a couple of small tears on the seats
4. The speedo and the tachometer are weird
5. There are some areas of chipped paint and a few small rust spots
6. The gearbox has a hint of a touchy 2nd gear just have to hold it at the gate for a split sec on speedy take offs
7. The hazard switch does not want to stay off

THE GOOD:
1. Starts every time, runs and handles well
2. Overall condition in my opinion is pretty surprisingly good like a garage queen
3. New battery cranks even after sitting for days
4. Stainless Steel bumpers converted
5. Clutch is good
6. Unique color AR219 English Racing Green
7. Does not appear to have been wrecked though I have not done a Carfax
8. Original Robbins fabric replacement top
9. I drove it for about two hours on Sunday-real blast
10. New battery
11. New lights all around
12. Glass is in good shape
13. Interior is pretty sweet in my book no major tears
14. Luggage rack? I guess that is good bit corroded so you know
15. Brakes rebuilt
16. Does not smoke at all-no real maintenance history came with this but another thumbs up in my book
17. Engine cools properly however as mentioned the heater ore has be bypassed by PO
18. K$N filter assemblies for that throaty intake sound

Although this is a really beautiful car, runs awesome, and probably never see another in such good shape on the market in this price range. Personal reasons require the sale of this car. It has been a joy working on this and bringing it back to a road worthy condition.
