Description for Alfa Romeo Spider 1969
1969 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto Convertible. Rebuilt 4 Cylinder Gasoline Engine. 5-Speed Manual Transmission. RWD. This car was actually purchased on 02/1/2003 from an enthusiast Alfa owner in Lake Oswego. Oregon. Since I own 4 classic and vintage cars. I am only able to drive them for two months during good weather around Portland Oregon. I usually take the car which is quicker to take out and I try to rotate each one during summer. So. it's normal for me to say that I put 200 to 300 miles on each car during summer and that is a high estimate. This is one of the main reasons why I am selling my Alfa. Since it doesn't get to be driven. I would like to pass it to an owner that would take the time to ride and fix a few things that will turn this car to the next level. I know my Alfa is getting to be a rare and a collector car but for 12 years and only driving it for a few hundred miles a year and my wife telling me to move it out of the garage is the real reason why I am selling it. So. if you have the time to ride it and have the experience to fix it yourself. or the money to have someone to fix a few things on this car. it would be a great investment to have around. Here are the mileage and dates I pulled from the service records that I have and will be turned over to whomever buys my car. Sometime between 2005 and 2014 the odometer stopped working. I am thinking it would be toward the last couple of years and I did not see the need to fix it since I own 7 cars and this was not a major issue for me to drive it for a few days during summer time. If you check the dates between 2002 and 2005. I only put 485 miles in 3 years time. That is an accurate statement and for the next 7 years up to now. you can assume the same average since I still own 7 cars and the weather in Oregon has not changed. There is no visible rust. undercarriage or around the exterior of the car. The L/F floor panel was replaced. Left front fender had some rust and that part was replaced. The paint was sanded down. rust removed and repainted. Here are some of the parts that I have replaced since I purchased the car: timing chain. new clutch cylinder. heater motor. starter solenoid. brake light switch. injector pump. fuel pump. lower ball joints. brake light switch and hood cable. The exterior paint in those areas does not match the rest of the car. I would recommend painting the whole car if you're trying to bring it back to new condition. The oil pan has a leak and the gasket used on the last repair was the wrong style. I had a head gasket done last summer and had a complete exhaust from Centerline professionally installed. The car starts every summer. drives great and is very reliable. Also. convertible top needs to be replaced if you want to put the top up during winter months and drive the car. I would never consider taking my Alfa out during winter months and rainy season and did I mention that I keep my garaged at 65 degrees during winter & Spring months? Also. for the few miles and days that I drive the car. having the top down gives me the most joy! So the long story short. I am not desperate or distress to sell my Alfa.
