Description for Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT 1975
This 1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT was a lifelong Texas car, It is finished in distinctive blue over light tan with 39,500 miles showing on the odometer which is believed correct. The car is described as largely rust-free and retains its factory 1962cc twin cam inline-four mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, both of which are in good running condition following a September 2016 service at Alfa-specialist DiFatta Brothers in Baltimore, Maryland. Work included a new fuel pump and filters, SPICA adjustment, and more. A new clutch was also installed in September by previous owner. This Alfetta is now offered with recent service records and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name. Outside, the factory blue paint has faded evenly due to sitting in the Texas sun between 2013 and 2015 since in our inventory it was been under roof. This Alfetta is a solid and largely rust-free with areas of corrosion where the A-pillar meets the cowl and on the rear hatch where the lower glass meets the frame. Both areas are detailed in the photo gallery, can provided extensive up-close photos of the body and undercarriage that show the vehicle to be in solid condition. The original San Antonio, Texas dealership’s sticker remains on the rear bumper. All panels and paintwork are believed original to this car, the spot-welds on the rear valence, fender lips, etc. are in very good condition. The body itself appears straight aside from a series of dings on the passenger door. All panel gaps look good and a few minor nicks and chips are detailed in the photo gallery. Overall, this Alfetta’s exterior appears to be in tidy shape and is kept it garaged since his purchase. The window seals for both doors where the window and door meet are dry-rotted and will need replacement, as will a missing radio antenna. The remainder of the door and window seals are in nice shape as are all of the chrome moldings and brightwork. The factory wheels are wrapped in four new factory-sized Dunlop tires. Inside, the light tan seats appear well-kept and in good shape with some age-related wear and a split in the driver’s right seat cushion seam. No upholstery tears are said to be present. The rear seats still retain some of their factory protective plastic covering between the seat cushion and backrest as seen above with the seat material appearing to be in good condition in these photos. This is a lightly-optioned Alfetta with dealer-installed A/C in addition to an AM/FM stereo with an 8-track player. The radio is inoperable, which could be due to the missing antenna. All instrumentation are function well except for an inoperable fuel gauge. The odometer shows 39,500 miles which is believed original based on the overall condition of the exterior and interior. The factory 1962cc twin cam inline-four and 5-speed manual transmission are in good working order thanks to a September 2016 service at Alfa-specialist DiFatta Brothers in Baltimore, Maryland, which included a new fuel pump and filters, SPICA adjustment, and more. Also installed a new clutch in September and says this Alfa drives well with responsive steering, strong braking, and smooth acceleration. The engine remains stock with the exception of a radiator from a Spider model. The only noted issue is an intermittent brief clunking sound from the driveshaft/exhaust area upon startup, which the mechanic says is a combination of the rear engine/tail-housing mount and driveshaft center support bearing. The clunk reportedly does not affect drivability. Service documentation consists of the recent $665 work order from DiFatta Brothers and another major service performed in 1997. We have many undercarriage pictures of this Alfetta, with what appears to be a chassis and underbody free of serious corrosion. Some light surface rust appears to be present in the wheel wells, but overall the car looks quite solid and far better than most Alfettas seem to have fared. Clean Florida Title.
