1991 Alfa Romeo 164.
This is a nice driving car that has been in storage for a while and needs some TLC to be ready for the road. The body is good with the only blemish on the right quarter panel next to the filler door. See photo. There is some light rust scale on the undercarriage but no rust through that I can find. Wash and wax it and it would look good. The engine runs well and include with the extra parts is a new timing belt. There is an exhaust leak that appears to be coming from one of the flex pipes to the engine. It appears to have been patch repaired at some time and now it is leaking again. Transmission shifts well. The steering gear, outer tie rod ends, front strut bearings and sway bar bushings have been replaced. The left driving light is cracked.
Included with the car are some spare parts. New oil pressure sending unit, new air filter, new coolant recovery tank, new thermostat with housing and gasket, rear caliper kits, new intake manifold hoses, extra cap, rotor and wires and two used computers. I believe that there is also an extra outside door handle.
The interior is a little worn from age. All the windows work, the seats work, door locks are good, cruise works, and the HVAC work execpt for the air conditioning. Previous owner said the AC compressor needed to be replaced. Not sure if it needs to be or just the clutch replaced. Either way there is an extra compressor that goes with the car that is suppose to be good used. One thing that I have learned about the car is sometimes it would not start. Found that placing the shifter in part and bumping it forward with your hand and it will start. The shift cable may need to be adjusted.
This car needs a new home so the reserve is within reason. It's red so could it be a Christmas gift? As far as Alfas go this has been a pretty straight driver and you can take the entire family for a ride. Please send an e mail through eBay with any questions.
Forgot to add that the controls for the sunroof need to be reattached. The bracket that holds them in place is plastic and has come apart from age. The sunroof should still work, just needs for the buttons and lights to be reattached. Might be a bracket for sale on eBay.
