Description for Alfa Romeo GTV 1966
Presenting this 1966 Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior that was first registered in Italy and taken to the US supposedly around the mid 1980’s. This vehicle is therefore an EU spec and it appears to be an unrestored example. Finished in a deep British Green over tan leatherette, this 105 model is powered by a 1,298 cc in line four paired with a manual transmission. For a better sound and performance, I replaced the air filter box with trumpets. The original Air box will be placed in the trunk. The original two spoke wheel was not with the car when I purchased it in 2016 and I replaced the three spoke dish wheel with a nice wooden OMP classic steering. I will include the three spoke wheel as well.
The car has been maintained by our local Alfa Romeo/FIAT only independent mechanic and has been always garaged with AC. For the past 20 years the car never saw a drop of water, she has been dry-washed and polished, she has several wax protecting layers that make the car shine. Previous owner installed a gas pump that helps feed the gas to the carbs, very useful to get her going especially if she’s not used daily. I recently changed the springs that makes the car handle beautifully. In November 2022 as I was getting her serviced and ready to be sold, I purchased 5 new Michelin 165 SR15 Radial, tubeless tires.
This seek after early step-nose Alfa is in great condition for being a non-restored car. Interior is also original and in great shape. The car does have a few signs of aging like some discreet paint blisters on the front end, a few paint chips and a side cut on the driver’s seat. This Alfa runs great, breaks well, it’s fun to drive and has that sweet Alfa sound typical of the 60’s and 70’s.
