Description for Alfa Romeo Spider 1962
Thank you for our interest in this beautiful 1962 Alfa Romeo Guilietta Spider Normale. The car is a late model Guilietta with its original 1300 cc dual overhead cam desirable 456 rear end and 1962 transmission with the addition of a 5th gear. The car runs strong. This car was restored in 1990 including the following: rocker panel replacement repainting engine rebuild new windshield and seat fames recovered. Since then the car has benefited from the following: rear end overhaul new Koni shocks new brake lines wheel cylinders and Master cylinder. The transmission rebuild included new syncros a fifth gear new transmission mounts and clutch. The radiator was reconditioned and all hoses were replaced. The wheels have been professionally powder coated and Verdestein 155x15” tires installed. All gages work. You will notice a nonstock air filter on the car. I do not have the original. There are however several engine parts. The car has also benefited from a Bosch distributor Bosch Blue Flame coil Pertronics Electronic ignition module and hotter 9.5mm (vs 8.5mm Normale) lift cam. The 9.5 mm cams are from a 1967 Duetto. The floors are nice with a few welded patches done when the rocker panels were replaced. A new convertible top was recently installed. New carpeting shows well. The paint job is from an older restoration and is suffering from some scattered micro blistering particularly on the front fender. There is a large surface blister in front of the right side of the windshield. There are some scrapes/rust spots on the valance. The car would need a new paint job to be concours quality. The chrome looks good including the new eyebrows. The trim piece allowing you to refinish the dash is available. The windshield wiper mechanism works but I have yet to find the proper wiper blade arm. Firewall plate # 10103; Vin# 370548; Engine # AR00102*31344*. Manufactured March 23 1962. Reason for selling – I recently purchased another car.Payment by cashiers check or confirmed bank wire within 7 days; Pickup immediately thereafter.Questions?
