Description for AMC Gremlin 1976
This car has a story like most. I obtained this Gremlin from a former tenant who leased my house. She owned this Gremlin for 27 years! and was the second owner. Recently. she had gotten a promotion and job transfer to another state and needed to move quickly for work reasons and said she would get the Gremlin moved and transferred as soon as possible. I said it was no problem. Anyways. more and more time kept passing and the car was still at my house. I could tell she was stressed out trying to make arrangements to get the Gremlin to her. plus keep up with her new job and get settled after moving to another state. Long story short. I ended up making a deal with her and bought the car. even though I knew she really didn't want to sell it. However. at this point. I knew she was content to be stress free about the whole thing and not worry about getting it relocated from so far away. Here's what I know: It was owned by a female prior to now for 27 years. Its a 1976 Gremlin AMC. Auto 6cylinder. 232 Engine. The motor looks good and sounds good. The transmission shifts and runs VERY good. It does have a heater and AC and it blows cold! It has power steering as well. The tires are in good condition with approximately 60 percent tread remaining. The rear-end appears to be in good condition also. The car does not appear to have any leaks! The car was parked in my concrete driveway for a period of time. and was always parked in the same place. There was never a drop of anything on the drive where it was parked. The former owner told me that she took good care of the vehicle. nbsp;and that it was in very good shape(especially considering its age). I tend to believe every word she told me about the car; because I leased her my house for approximately 18 months and she left it in immaculate condition. I feel this car is in exceptionally good condition for its age. It is clean. nbsp;it sounds and runs and shifts good. The seats are in very good condition and the headliner is in tact and not sagging. The doors open and close fine and no cracked glass and no leaks. There are a couple of minor spots(as you can see in the photos) of rust. Nothing major. The paint is faded in some spots with a few flakes in the paint(mainly on the hood). The radio is missing from the dash but does have after market stereo speakers in tact. I believe they are pioneer. I believe this would definitely be a rare find for a collector.
