Offered here is nothing short of a vintage American automobile. This surviving 1988 Eagle Woody is truly remarkable. 1988 marked the final year of production for the AMC Eagles, aking this one even more desirable. It is just a two-owner vehicle and was purchased new at Bowen-Fisher Motors of Muskegon, I. All original paperwork comes with the car, ncluding the original window sticker, uild sheet, nd owner's manual. The first owner was an Eagle enthusiast and had a collection of them, s well as many miscellaneous parts he acquired over the years. This includes extra wire wheel covers, MC badges, ight assembly, oor hinges, oor handles, tc. Everything you see in the photos goes with the car.
In 1988, hrysler took over AMC, ut production of the Eagles continued for the 1988 model year. The car's name was officially changed from AMC Eagle to Eagle Wagon. However, ll of the AMC badges, uild sheets, nd door plaques were carried over. The VIN was no different under the new corporate owner, ther than the digit for the year. Although the paperwork that came with the 1988 Eagles continued to indicate that American Motors Canada, td. built them, he company as named ceased to exist, ince it became a subsidiary of Chrysler in the buyout, s did all AMC properties. The sedan and Limited wagon model were dropped, eaving the wagon as the only available version in 1988, ts final season and now under Chrysler's ownership. Total 1988 model year production was 2,306 units, ll station wagons. The final car rolled out of AMC's original Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, ntario on December 14, 987.
The example here for sale is a 1988 AMC Eagle Wagon 4WD. It is finished in the original Vivid Red Metallic (paint code BK) over Garnet Leather interior with wood grain finish inside and out. It is powered by the original 4.2L/2bbl 6-Cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed on the floor Select-Drive automatic transmission with a manual 4-wheel-drive system. Standard features included power brakes, ower steering, C, ilt steering wheel, ear-window defogger, oof luggage rack, ual remote chrome mirrors, ual halogen headlights, old-down rear seat, nd light group (glove box, ome, nd engine lights). Upgraded factory equipment on this car included individual bucket seats, -way power driver and passenger seats, ower door locks, ower windows, eavy duty battery, ear window wiper/washer, ood grain side panels, ruise control, ire wheel covers, cuff moldings, nd Cassette E.T. Everything on this car is factory and functions as it should. According to the window sticker, he MSRP was $15,925.00 back in 1988, hich makes sense with all the added features.
This Eagle Woody is ready for a new home. It starts, uns, nd drives extremely well. It has been well-maintained and cared for over the years. It has been a summer driver and garaged in the winter. The transmission shifts well and the 4WD system works great, aking the vehicle extremely versatile for all weather conditions. All power switches work well also. New tie rods and joints were just installed on the front end as well as brakes, elts, tarter, attery, nd new tires. The undercarriage also has been a recipient of Ziebart coating to prevent rusting. It's not perfect but its one of the cleanest you will find on the market; freshly detailed inside and out with a paint protection sealant.
