Description for AMC Other 1962
Two 1962 Ramblers (You Get Both)1962 AMC Rambler Classic (Teal and White)Clean Title (pink slip) in handRegistered to July 20166 Cylinder (I think it was rebuilt)Shows 61,000 miles but might be 161,000. I don't know.Manual transmissionGood Battery, lass, nd TiresNeeds interior workI bought this car for a Route 66 run. I didn't have enough time to get it truly ready. I have only driven it around the block. The previous owner stated that it used to slip out of gear once in awhile but I didn't experience that in the very short drive I took it on. Since it has been in my driveway I have done a lot to it (See parts list below). Ironically since I started working on it I now can't keep the engine running. It starts up but doesn't stay running. It might be the fuel pump. This car has the vacuum operated wipers that also work off the fuel pump. I never hooked them up. As I stated the interior needs total refurbishment. The only other thing I would do is replace the floorboards since someone has replaced them with galvanized. When they replaced the floorboards they never replaced the gas pedal (rubber piece). This looks to be a good little car but still needs the things I mentioned. Here is what I have done so far. I wanted to take the V8 and trans out of it and put it in the AMC Classic I have. I have chosen to sell both cars instead. I have never driven this car but did carefully start the engine. Since it has been in my driveway I have done the following to it (See parts list below). I got the engine to start up but because it needs a fuel pump and possibly a carb rebuild it doesn't stay running. It probably would if you run it from a gas can until you can verify the fuel tank and lines are in good shape. The interior needs total refurbishment but looks liek it would come out very well. Here is what I have done so far.
