The body is exceptionally straight. . Pretty! . The factory Continental Kit is a great 50's / 60's touch . Excellent rear bumper chrome and tail lamps . The trunk is nicely finished - and the trunk was a new feature, the earlier Metropolitans didn't have a trunk, rather a stowage boot behind the seat! . That's the original vinyl interior, in excellent condition! . Excellent original doorpanel . . excellent gauge cluster. The speedometer works and so does the fuel gauge. . Excellent dashboard, with original paint! . Very good original headliner, with some discoloration showing . It even has a rear seat! for small people! . there's the mighty 1500 CC four cylinder engine! It starts easily and runs great! . Simple yet effective . Stock and authentic. . Here's a view underneath - it's extremely dry and solid. I put a shop magnet all around the rocker panels and lower sections of the body, and it stuck to metal everywhere I put it. . And the inner fenderwells - original dry sheetmetal! . There's the inner fenderwell on the passenger side. Groovy California solid-ness! That's why the rest of the world wants a California car! . . Pretty! . Nice! . This car won this trophy, First Place in Metropolitan class at the Big Nash Club "Grand Nash-ional" last year. It was a huge meet with lots of cars. Let's be realistic though, this car is not a frame-off Pebble Beach quality car, rather a car that started out as a very nice, solid, original California car that has been sensitively restored with an eye to keeping as much originality as possible.
