Description for AMC Javelin 1973
Up for sale is my 1973 AMC Javelin. This Javelin is wearing all its original body panels and has only ever had 1 repaint in its original color of Wild Plum. There is no rust on in or under this car. This car has always been garage kept and as you can see by the mileage it has spent most of its life under roof. The car has always been very well maintained. almost every thing maintenance wise has been replaced and is as new on the car. Which means you can get in this car and drive it any where at any time! As you can see in the picks there have been a few upgrades done to the car such as headers and dual exhaust. an aluminum radiator. factory rally wheels some gauges and a tachometer. I do have the original steel wheels with the dog dish hub caps. radiator. exhaust manifolds and A. I. R. pump and any other original parts that I may have will go with the car to its new owner. I also have a few other parts that may be included if the new owner wants them. Body wise this car is excellent as I have said earlier this is a no rust original body panel car that was stripped to bare metal and repainted in its original color about 15 years ago. The paint still looks and shines like it was just done with only a few minor nicks from driving the car. The interior is all original with the exception of the carpet which is fairly new. The interior is exceptionally nice for its age. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The seats. door panels. head liner and trim are all very nice with the only negative being the top inside material on the drivers seat back is separating. (see pic) Although this is hardly noticeable unless viewed from the passenger side and I don't know how or why this happened as it's not in a spot that would normally wear. The engine and drive line look and work good. The 304 V8 2 barrel engine and heavy duty 3 speed transmission were pulled and freshened a few years back with new gaskets etc. also has a new clutch and all new bushings in the Z bar and linkage. The 3:54 ratio rear is original and was also serviced with new fluid. If your an AMC guy you have noticed the engine is not painted AMC blue as the paint could not be found at the time so it was painted Ford blue. This is an easy fix as I have found you can still get the paint through some of the AMC parts places and clubs. Now to the under carriage. the suspension and Power steering are tight with no worn parts. has 4 new shocks and new rear springs and 4 new tires. The car has manual disc brakes with all new brakes and hardware all around. The floors and trunk are original and solid as this car was under coated back when it was new but not done so thick as you can't see the originality of the cars under side. The under coating is fairly thin but did a great job of preserving the car. I have a pile of documentation for the car such as the original title. pictures and receipts for maintenance parts. This car is a great candidate for a 390 or 401 and 4 speed upgrade. Would also be cool to add the rear spoiler and maybe even the AMX package. It would be a whole lot cheaper to start off with a rust free and complete car such as this than to buy a car that needs a complete restoration. What your getting here is a car you can jump in turn the key and go it literally needs nothing! Its ready to show or go! The reason I am selling my Javelin is I am looking to expand my business and need the working capital. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them just shot me a message. The car is currently in storage as we are in the middle of winter here in PA with over a foot of snow on the ground so I will not be able to provide any pictures other than what I have in the ad. the pictures in the add were taken just last fall so they are of the car in its current condition. I do require a $500. 00 deposit thru pay pal within 24 hours of action end. I will however return your deposit if you feel I have not described my car accurately here once you see it in person. But I believe once you see the car in person that it is actually better than described. As with any old car there is no warranty either implied or expressed. Car is sold as is where is. Thanks for taking the time to look at and read my add. Good luck and may the highest bidder win!On Feb-02-15 at 06:13:04 PST. seller added the following information:Up for sale is my 1973 AMC Javelin.
