1979 AMC Spirit GT with the 4.2 6 cylinder engine. Car has 87,xxx miles. Car is in great running condition, has no issues with starting, nearly no rust, and no overheating issues. Tread on all tires is excellent condition. All dash equipment (radio, gauges, etc) are original and in good working order. I will do an oil change before the car is picked up.
Car has a current Texas inspection, and I have a Texas title in hand.
Ideal for a DIY repairman. Original owner's manual and service manual come with the car. The car is really easy to work on, with plenty of space in the engine bay, and parts are cheap and easy to come by.
A lot of TLC was needed when I purchased the car, so many minor fixes have been made. Power steering hose (high pressure) and valve cover gasket have been replaced, and rear air suspension has been resealed.
The front tires have been replaced in the past year (can provide receipt) suspension has been aligned (can provide receipt), the rear end was recently rebuilt by a local drive train repair shop (can provide receipt), and the carburetor and fuel pump/filter have been replaced. Front brake pads have been replaced in the last 30 days, and rear pads still looked good.
Interior is in mostly excellent condition. There is one spot on the side of the driver's seat, as shown in pictures. There is some discoloration on the seats, but it is not noticeable unless the car is in bright sun.
****The car still needs front suspension work (shocks/upper and lower ball joints). The air conditioning is not blowing cold air. I believe it needs a recharge. We have an extra set of brake shoes for back brakes, as well as some touch up paint.****
We are relocating, and do not want to transport 3 vehicles.
