1960 Mighty Mite AMC M422This Mighty Mite has been almost completely restored and looks and runs great. The Mighty Mite was specially made for the marine corps and was designed to be lifted into combat by helicopter. At the time of its development it was the most technologically advanced jeep ever made. To keep its weight down the body is made of aluminum and therefore is rust free. It has four wheel independent suspension and with the available fording kit can go in 5' of water. This little jeep weighs slightly over 1. 00 lbs. and cost the military almost five times what they paid for conventional jeeps. They are very rare and only around 3. 00 were ever made. This is the short wheelbase model which is the most rare. It was designed to run on three wheels if one wheel is removed and was outfitted with an air cooled four cylinder motor.
