Description for AMC AMX 1969

Rarely do you come across an original paint AMX like this one! Especially with desirable Bittersweet Orange exterior color complemented by white racing stripes and mag wheels with brand new Firestone Wide Oval tires. This is a 390 CID, 4-speed Go Package car with Twin Grip posi-traction differential, black interior, very rare gauge set above radio (vacuum, oil pressure, alternator), power steering, power brakes and tinted windshield.
I cannot verify that mileage is accurate. It might have been turned over. However, the motor and transmission were rebuilt just prior to my purchasing the car a couple years ago. I have a file that contains all the maintenance records for the car. Mechanically the car is sound. It starts right up, sounds great, drives and steers well for a car with bias ply tires. The speedo gear needs replacement. I might get around to fixing that before the car sells. All other gauges work including the tachometer.
This is a West Coast car originally purchased at Hofstrand Motors in Pullman, Washington where the car spent six months before being driven down to Fullerton, California in the summer of 1969. The car has remained in Orange County, California ever since. I purchased the car from the family of the second owner. I have the original bill of lading which lists the car build details including all options. I also have the original owner's manual, warranty book and pocket facts book.
This is a handsome car and is the only AMX that ever shows up at the weekend cars & coffee events in SoCal. The only comparable survivor AMX currently listed for sale is same color car currently listed on eBay for $55k. My reserve is lower. I don't need the money, just trying to free up some space for a new toy. Please be courteous and only bid if you have the cash to complete the purchase. Good luck guys!

Guys - I have received several messages requesting additional information and wanted to share it with all bidders.
1. The car has some neat "Day Two" additions like the luggage rack and rear window louvers ("slats"). I think the car looks awesome with the slats and luggage rack!
2. The engine has an AMC Group 19 Edelbrock R4B intake manifold and headers. The exhaust note is aggressive (not obnoxious) with the headers and Flowmaster mufflers.
3. The original low back bucket seats were replaced with 1971-later AMC high back bucket seats. I am told this was a common upgrade because the original seats had a recline mechanism that often wore out and the seat back would not stay upright. Purists can purchase original seats on eBay and have them recovered for about $1,500.
4. Please note this is an original paint California car. The paint is not "laser straight", nor is it perfect. It has minor imperfections you would expect for a 50 year old car. This car is for someone who appreciates originality. It is not a restored trailer queen, but one of the few remaining original paint AMX's left on planet earth!
I hope this information is useful. Please note I am showing this car locally and reserve the right to sell to local buyer.
