British Motor Holdings (BMH) watched the Austin-Healey 3000 meet an early demise in 1967 due to American emissions and crash regulations. The company quickly searched for a six-cylinder replacement. The solution BMH identified was to fit a 3.0-liter engine from an Austin Westminster into the MGB resulting in the MGC.

The engine generated 150hp which was more than 50 hp greater than the MGB. With the four speed/overdrive the car could easily cruise at 80 mph all day and topped out around 120 mph. On the outside the cars sported a hood bulge and a chrome strip that ran across the bulge. The coil spring suspension was replaced with torsion bars and wishbones with limited travel in order to make space for the bigger engine. Wheels were increased to 15 inches. Today an MGC is a fun way to enjoy 1960s British motoring. The car has plenty of interior leg room and is reasonably well suited for American roads making the MGC a pleasing cruiser.

This MGC was shipped to the US as a LHD North American Export Specification vehicle. In 2012 it was discovered as a barn find.It was then sent back to England for a concours restoration byMayfair Classic Cars and Classic MG Specialists. The Roadster retained its rust free original body panels. It has gone through a most professional restoration both cosmetically and mechanically regardless of cost. It is finished in a flawless and most desired mason black nonmetallic. It has an impeccable deep black hide leather interior along with new black wool carpets.

The restoration was completed to high concours standards and the car presents as it should. The paintwork is outstanding. The glass chrome stainless and factory wire wheels are excellent. The interior door panels upholstery dashboard carpets instruments and switches are excellent. The engine compartment and chassis is perfectly detailed.Correct finishes were applied on the engine and all chassis components. While we have been the custodian of this exceptional motorcar regular cold starts as well as lubrication and fluid checks were performed always within the factory tolerances.
