Description for Audi 100 1991

Up for sale is a black 1991 Audi 100. Another version of the ‘86 5000 model. Silver strip at bottom is unique. I bought this on ebay motors in July 2015. Seller described as having much more life left in it. About total 15200 miles on it. In the past 1 year I put over a thousand miles on it. But there’s a few things wrong with it. Let me describe.

Arm rest on driver’s door is detached a bit. Window controls for right side of vehicle are not operating. Controls for door mirrors partly functioning. Problems could be electrical. Air conditioning hardly works. Heating a little better. Cover for radio a bit loose. Both bright lights work. But right front light is dead and a chip of cover is missing. Left front light has grain or sand material inside. A rear light is cracked. Right door doesn’t open from inside. Trunk doesn’t open: with key or glove box.

Rear bumper is bruised on left edge. So is holding for left mirror. A couple holes for screws on license not aligned properly on both front and back. Painting incomplete behind icthus emblem on back. Cover for gas tank a little loose. Silver lining by left rear door unhinged. Small or slightly visible white scratches along both sides of door and on sunroof. About ten total. One should be pictured. Some are long swipes that extend across most of the side. Tiny dents on hood, trunk, left door and around left front tire. Biggest dent above right front wheel well. It’s about the size of soccer ball but four inches wide. Small ringed mark in center of front window. Framing missing near back window on both left and right.

Cardboard covering on inner side of sunroof removed as it was discolored. Doesn't look too bad, but a little skeletal. It is pictured. Inside ceiling covering has been stapled numerous times in back by previous owner. Inside seats are discolored only a little. Pictures show most defects. Some pics from previous seller.

Washer fluid controls need some work. Empty right now.

Transmission is automatic.

Last summer a mechanic informed me by phone to replace the brake booster, master cylinder and brake reservoir. The master cylinder is probably the ATE version. I couldn’t find anyone to replace those whether for a good price or even at all.

Brakes were worked on in April. A power switch was replaced. A couple weeks later I went over a curb too fast and ruined steering wheel connection. I got that fixed in July. The sway bar was replaced along with control arm and bushings. Rims or wheel edges on right side of car were scuffed up though. Too bad. The main part of the wheel still looks unscathed.

Keep in mind how people complained about brake issues with the 5000 from the later 80s. That is a matter of debate as the above statement been carefully refuted elsewhere online. ‘Anti-lock off’ light is always on. Speedometer wasn’t working last week but then I tapped on it and it started functioning again.

Engine hesitates when switching gears.

Alignment is off a bit. Steering wheel jars a bit when you hit a bump. Tends to veer to right. Also gets stiff when turning. Power steering fluid was nearly empty for a while but I refilled it this week.

No title right now. DOL of Washington lost it and seller mum on asking for duplicate. I can refer you to seller from last summer. I’ve asked him many times for a replacement title, but he puts me off for long periods and I’ve given up on him.

Remind me to give you booklet that came with car and repair reports from last few months including ones from VW/Audi of Boise, Motor European Autoworks of Boise and a couple others. One report says that the return hoses are leaking.

I would recommend two things for shipping.Either get it transported by semi trailer or if you drive it have an escort car track you.I have some bottles of power steering fluid and anti-freeze coolant that are near full.

I’m hoping to sell to someone who is serious about fixing this thing up. Price negotiable. There is a certain person in western Oregon that I don’t want to sell this to. His first name begins with an R and his last name ends with an R. You know who you are. For anyone else, help me get some money for this. Buy retro. Thank you.
