1965 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK3 BJ-8 PHASE 2 SPORTS CONVERTIBLE. ORIGINAL COLORADO RED WITH BLACK TRIM. 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE. 60-SPOKE PAINTED WIRE WHEELS. VERY GOOD CAR FOR IMPROVEMENT.
Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, s this very decent Austin Healey 3000 MK3. This car was stored since 1998 and has been off the road since then. It's an original Colorado Red car with black trim and weather equipment.
The car appears very complete and original, ut could benefit from some cosmetic improvements.
The underchassis appears very decent and the mainrails are very solid. It may require an outrigger or two eventually. There are several pictures posted detailing the condition of the underside. There is some loose scale, ut the car is mostly very solid overall.
The car would require an overhaul on the hydraulic systems and a cleaning out of the fuel system to make it a driver. The correct BJ-8 engine turns nicely by hand, nd may even run well with a little work, etting it back into service and on the road again.
The body overall is very good and staright. The grille fits well. Paint is starting to lift in some areas and some previous body repairs are starting to show, ut it looks average for a driver level car for now.
Overall, this desirable 3000 MK3 with all of it's late features is the most popular model and the one to have. These cars are seldom available in this price range and are becoming harder to find. With a little bit of work, his car could be put back on the road with some cosmetics improvements at a later date.
