1959 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK1 BT-7 ROADSTER. ORIGINAL COLORS: FLORIDA GREEN WITH GREY TRIM. GREEN CARPETS. 48-SPOKE WIRE WHEELS. 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE GEARBOX. HEATER. ADJUSTABLE STEERING WHEEL. EARLY PRODUCTION MATCHING NUMBERS. VERY SOLID CALIFORNIA CAR. RUNS WELL. CHASSIS/VIN # HBT7-L / 340BODY # 3014 BT7 288ENGINE # 29D / RU/ H 400RECORDED MILEAGE 38. 09Offered for sale. here on Ebay from KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS. is a very early production ( #340 ) BT-7 Roadster. This car was recently unearthed in a barn in Northern California where I'm sure it sat for many years. It is a fairly original car with an excellent chassis/superstructure (accident-free. nearly rustfree) and a nice running engine. which would make it's restoration fairly straightforward. It is a nicely-optioned car and was produced in the rare color of Florida Green with Grey trim (which is actually a very light beige. almost parchment). The carpets were dark green and the top was most likely Grey. There are remnants of the original trim material still in the interior. This car's engine compartment is highly original as it appears the driveline has never been removed. and the rear shroud and fenders are still in the original paint. The car appears incredibly rustfree with the exception of a couple areas: there is some minor rust-through in the passenger toe-board area. the original doglegs needs some minor repair. and there are some pinholes in the lower portions of the doors and the LH front fender. The floors and trunk floor appear perfectly solid. even under the battery area ! The inner and outer rockers are very solid and original. Please examine the underchassis photos which reveal a perfectly straight. exceptional frame. outriggers. and underside. The body panels are very decent overall with normal gapping. The condition of the front shroud is car's weakest feature. It has some filler that needs removing. It could use a re-shaping around the hood and lower chin area. needs some headlight area repair. but is very restorable with some effort. There is a dent (pictured) under the rear shroud. A portion of the original lacquer paintwork has been polished to reveal it's true color. This car has a very nice running engine with excellent oil pressure and very little smoke on the overrun ( which could very well improve with time). A battery was hooked up and the carb bowls were filled fuel. The engine was run for 40 minutes with great results. It idled and revved well. and it would be fine to put back into service as is. Fresh hydraulics and fuel would make this a driving car ! It is currently fitted with a side-exit exhaust system. There is a small leak in the middle of the radiator. There is a photo of the additional parts included with the car. The car would need a few items going forward with the restoration which includes the rear wooden seat back squab. 1 rear seat pan. a pair of front bumper brackets. and the top frame header wood and finisher. The car is very complete besides those items. The dashboard is very original with correct instruments. switchgear. and the trafficator assembly. It has a top frame with an original side curtain set. Overall. this California car is a very attractive restoration project with a superb chassis and a good running engine. It is a full matching numbers car and left the factory in a rare and unusual period color scheme. This car is located in Southern California and can be viewed by appointment. It is sold with a clear and current CA title. $15. 50. KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS. 909-920-9221. work. 909-241-1051. cell.
