Description for Austin Healey Other 1956
Offered for sale, his excellent and highly attractive BN2 Sports Convertible finished in red with red trim. This example presented here has been the subject of a total restoration by its current owner, ho has restored several other British cars. Year of Manufacture: Between Late August 1955 to July 1956. The car is finished to a high standard, nd runs and drives very well. While not a Concours level restoration the restoration includes a complete strip-down to bare chassis with all components being removed.
The Chassis was completely cleaned and inspected for structural integrity. Any repairs were then carried out and the chassis was painted and built back up with new parts into a rolling body shell. This entailed rebuilt front suspension, ebuilt shock absorbers, ew bushings, nd rebuilt braking system. The engine was completely rebuilt with machining (cylinders were sleeved and returned back to Standard size), ll new components including pistons, ings, earings, eals, askets, iming chain, ebuilt cylinder head with new valves, ew oil pump, ater pump, ngine mounts, pin on oil filter, tc. The gearbox was inspected and repaired as required, djusted and returned to service. Carburetors were professionally restored and installed with a new fuel pump and fuel tank. A coolant recovery system has been added to compliment the vehicle.
A new wiring harness was fitted with all sundry electrical components inspected, efurbished as required and reinstalled to retain as many original components as possible. The car was completely re-trimmed using Moss Motors items including front seat kits with new foam, nterior panel kit, arpet kit, runk Armacord kit, verflex soft top, op boot, eather-stripping, askets, eals, tc. A set offive new, 8-spoke stainless wire wheels were fitted with new 165x15 radial tires and installed with new knockoffs.
This car has accrued under 300 test miles since its completion last year. It drives well with a throaty exhaust note and has proved to be a reliably running car.
