Description for Austin Healey 3000 1967
Barn Find1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III 2+2 Convertible Roadster, intage Ford powered hot rod/drag car. This car was purchased by it's previous owner 40 years ago in Connecticut and has been stored away ever since. As far as we know it was turned into a street/strip car in the late 60's/early 70's powered by a Ford 302 and likelyraced at Connecticut Dragway. The engine is currently out of the car and is included with the sale. The intake and heads are off but appears complete carb to pan. It will need to be completely rebuilt. The transmission is missing. Body is very solid overall. Rockers and door bottoms are excellent. There is rust/separation along the vertical joint behind the doors which is typical for these cars. Trunk lid has some old fiberglass patchwork done and the rear wheel wells have been radiused slightly and flared for racing. The hood is missing. One of the best things about this car is that the frame is excellent with no rust. It's much cleaner than most of the other project Healeys I have seen for sale. Floors are old non-factory replacements. At least most of the original seat components and upholstery are there, nd the convertible top frame is in very good condition. The windshield is cracked and the original dashboard is missing. An aluminum panel with large Stewart Warner gauges is included. Factory knock off wire wheels up front with wide chrome reverse wheels out back which have been welded to knock off hubs. An extra wire wheel is included. Brakes will need to be gone through. The leaf springs are currently unbolted from the rear axle however the car still rolls fine for transport. Original vin tag is in place on the firewall. There is NO TITLE, ar will be sold on a Connecticut bill of sale only. If your state requires a title there are plenty of classic car titling companies available to suit your needs.
