Description for Austin Princess 1963
1963 Austin (Vanden Plas) Princess wedding limousine needing minor work to complete. This is a straight 6 cylinder right-hand drive, olumn shift, anual steering, anual brakes automobile. Sliding glass divider window and pull-up jumpseats in the passenger compartment in addition to the rear bench seat. I do not know the true mileage. The car has a clean Florida title. This car is mostly hand formed aluminum over wood framing, ith steel wings (front fenders). The body is in very good condition, aint is good, hines well. Off-white color. This is a potentially a great classic car to add to your wedding or antique limousine service. The car is 90% ready to go, ut what makes this car a great candidate for your wedding service is that it has been retrofitted with front and back air conditioning (R134) and an alternator, s well as a radiator aux cooling fan.. The system needs to be recharged from non-use but it does work fine. Over the years that I have had this car I have replaced the rear leaf springs with new, ad the seats professionally reupholstered in a bone naugahyde vinyl, efinished the interior wood burl trim, efinished the door panels in matching naugahyde, eplaced the battery last year, ad the water pump replaced. The engine runs well, hifts fine, teers straight. The chrome bumpers are good, rill is good except for a minor dent in one of the vertical bars, ide chrome trim is fair; some pitting. The 4-wheel hydraulic self-jacking system works but leaks. A service manual and parts source is included.
I have had the car for years in dry storage, orking on it here and there. I am moving now and do not have time to complete. This is a honest list of what needs to be completed for use:
-The brake master cylinder needs to be replaced (INCLUDED). The original leaks. (Previous owner replaced wheel brakes and wheel cylinders). System needs to be bled.- Floor carpet kit installed (INCLUDED). Chocolate brown color.-Turn signal switch to be reassembled. Stalk broke off, ot replaced, witch is partially disassembled.-A moth got into the car and a few pinholes opened up in the rear mohair headliner. The holes are very small but it will need to be stitched, atched, r replaced.-Minor electrical wiring work; 1 or 2 parking lights need wiring in the front.- The tailpipe should be replaced with a new one bent to go over the rear axle.-There is a very minor body part that needs to be fabricated at the base of the divider between the driver and passenger door on 1 side. It is originally aluminum; broke off in transport.-Tires have good tread but should be replaced due to age and sidewall dry rot.-Weather stripping needs to be installed (INCLUDED).
Depending on the level of restoration that you want to take it to, here is some decayed wood in the trunk area, ot visible. It does not affect normal use. The engine and transmission leak various fluids. It's old; it leaks. Park it over a drip pan.
