Description for Other Makes Austin Gypsy 1962
up for bid is my hotrod project. it is a real Austin. This vehicle was designed to go after Landrover back in the day. after in production for a few years. it actually became a threat to landrover and they were worried. both companies were bought out by BMC and the Gypsy model was dropped. I bought this as a project from someone who gave up on it. the drive train is complete with a V8 swap: Chevrolet 350 crate engine/ turbo 350 automatic transmission/ GM 10 bolt rear end ( gear ratio unknown) I made several Improvements on the vehicle to include engine parts/hoses. fabricated a dash with gauges. added a retro radio kit ( just needs to be hooked up and speakers installed) fitted bimini style top. now it's time I have to give up. vehicle just needs a better front axle with disc brakes to be a real daily driver. a paint job if you don't like blue. or strip the paint and let it rust a little then clear coat it to make it rat roddish. I have gauges I ordered to begin finishing the dash. need to order the speedometer and tach ( I can give you the info on the company that made the gauges so you can order to match. or you can get your own style)This thing gets attention !! with a little more TLC it can be a show stealer !! if you want something different. this is it. Camaros and vettes are nice. but everybody does those. build outside the hotrod box with this thing and people will pass up the chevelles to come look at your creation. just because I listed this as a project doesn't mean it's junk. What is there is well worth the price. it won't take much to finish her off. I had to investigate/learn/discover things about this vehicle because the one who originally built it is not available and previous owner was not helpful with info. I DID buy a build book ( stacy david show: gears: build book ) and made notes and listed everything I did to it so you will have info. I will not ship. I will help with getting it to a shipper. I need cash upon pick up. I have clear title. thanks for looking. this vehicle is on google images. look and see what it looked like before.
