Description for Austin 1275 GT 1970
This is your opportunity to own a real Classic Mini that has been re-assembled, serviced and owned by two vintage British automobile mechanics with forty years of experience running a restoration shop. This Mini was purchased in 2001 as a father-daughter project at the Carlisle Import Show in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. True mileageunknown as the interior was disassembled and gauges were missing. However, the compression test proved that the motor is very strong and the gearbox shifts very clean. This Mini has the latest rod-change style gearbox which makes for very quick and easy shifting. Shift pattern is the same as a left-hand drive car and conversion is easily attainable on an early Mini such as this one.The firewall was cut out and boxed in to accommodate a Weber side draft carburetor. The current set up is Dual SUs, which provide plenty of power for street driving. Carburetors, intake, and wiring harness have all been replaced along with a round of maintenance new seals, belt, and gaskets. Drum brakes are still in place, but all hydraulic components have been replaced. Floors are not new but are solid. Car has been stored indoors. Fresh red paint and body work in 2008 at our restoration shop. Car is currently on the road and running well. Non-ethanol fuel has been used, and carburetors are very clean and free from the destructive effects of fuel that contains ethanol.
