Description for BMW 2002 1973
THIS LISTING WAS PREVIOUSLY STATED TO BE A 1971, IT IS A 1973. So very sorry for the error. I realized it when I uploaded a photo of the identification and specs plate that says 1973. Sincere apologies. I cancelled that listing and have re-listed here. All other specs are the same as before.-----------------------------------
Beautiful California car that was garaged for most of its life and always covered when it wasn't garaged. Chamoix white paint is in very good condition with the exceptions detailed in the photographs. The navy blue interior with navy vinyl trim is in excellent shape.
The car is stock with the exception of the stereo, speakers, Weber carburetor and third brake light. The new Weber carburetor was installed in September 2014, and only has about 100 miles on it. I still have the stock carburetor as well, and it will be provided with the car (it's in the trunk). A new alternator, voltage regulator, spark plug wires and spark plugs were also installed September 2014.
The car hasn't been driven much in the last couple of years but it still starts up easily, runs and handles well. This car has been in our family since its original purchase, and was well loved by both myself and my uncle (the original owner).
I've tried to detail everything in pictures, but here are a few things worth noting:
Internal:
- Aftermarket stereo
- Aftermarket door speakers
- Third brake light installed
- The dash is practically perfect. No cracks whatsoever
- The seats almost always had covers on them and are in practically perfect condition
External:
- Passenger side door and side panel scratch and dent
- Bent trim on driver's door
- Trunk ding (photographed with a quarter for scale)
- Driver side rear wheel well dent and rust
- Missing silver bar from grill
- Minor front bumper dent
Engine:
- Needs new air hose from the air intake pre-heat valve
- Washer fluid tank leaks
- Possible small, very slow/intermittent leak at the very front of the car, just behind the bumper, on the driver's side. Has not been investigated
Extras and Stuff:
- I have a few related books to throw in and some original advertising
- I have some nice car mats I'll throw in too
- This car is called Rupert, for Rupert Bear, an old British comic character. Thought I'd mention it in case you are the kind of person who names their cars and are superstitious (think the Mary Celeste)
