Featured here, one of the rarest modern BMW automobiles produced: a 1980 BMW 320iS. While E21 production numbers exceeded 1,000,000 cars, the 320is was a very limited model with manufacturing totals in the thousands...

This BMW is a 100% rust free (chassis and body) original California Car. The engine starts right up and runs extremely well (very responsive). The clutch feels great and shifting through all the gears is near effortless. The brakes, steering and suspension are all in proper working condition and the entire drive-train is very solid and tight. The car has 134,875 miles original miles. The car exhibits great long term care, showing excellent body rubber and trim. The BMW roundels gleam, and the instrumentation and console are in great shape. The dash has a few minor cracks. The tool kit in the trunk is mostly complete. The sunroof and windows also operate properly and the rear windows pop out (nice feature). In addition to being well cared for, this BMW comes equipped with the best of USA market equipment of its time:

*Recaro seats

*Special front air dam

*Larger front sway bar + additional rear sway bar

*Limited Slip Differential (3.91 to 1)

The paint finish has a lovely shine with only minimal imperfections (nicks, chips, dings, scuffs, etc. The overall appearance is outstanding! The body has no major dents or obvious imperfections. Absolutely no rust or repair, ever.....not even one spec.

Styling of this car contained elements from Paul Bracq, who also styled the Mercedes Benz Model 600 Limousine, the 230SL /280SL Pagoda, as well as the 220SE Coupe. These legendary cars were styled in the 1960s and upon joining the BMW design team, work commenced on the successor to the BMW 2002 / tii. From 1970 to 1975, details evolved to become the finished product we now know : the elevated trunk plane essential for better aerodynamics, the front grill + nose treatment, as well as the "Hofmeister Kink" (the rear side window angle common to several BMW models). The BMW 2002 predecessor was and is a great handling car, but suspension settings and chassis details were optimized in the new design. Summary: arguably the best USA E21 available today.
