Description for BMW 2002 1970

THE OVERVIEW
Offered for an appreciating new owneris this classic 1970 BMW 2002 E10-chassis two-door sedan!
Finished in baltic blue over black, this 47 year-old BLUE LICENSE PLATE California classicshows just over 44,600 miles on it's WORKING five-digit odometer! This specimen was recently unearthed from a 33 year garage storage in Bezerkely, California! By the looks of the absolutely virgin original interior, I would guess the mileage to be trueand accurate but I cannot 100% verify this. It recently received a $2,000 mechanical service which included new fuel lines, battery, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, good used tires, brake calipers and brake lines, fuel pump, starter and more. Cosmetically it was treated to a buff and polish and some light brush touchup of red spots. And as for red, this car came from the factory Granada red and was repainted a baltic blue color [Yes, I am also NOT happy about that!]. This double 02 sports what I believe to be the original and very strong running 2.0 liter engine with rare dual Weber side draft carbs and the factory 4 speed manual transmission with stopping power provided by front disc and rear drum brakes with original 13" "steelie" wheels with good rubber. It sports the original black vinyl interior with reclining seats, working gauges, extra center console with stereo, original owner's manuals and stamped service books showing original purchase from German Motors in Lahambra, California September 9th, 1969! It is being sold with original keys, blue California license plate and clean and clear California title!

THE BODY AND TRIM
The exterior of this classic BMW is in fair condition overall. While the body is not 99.99% rust-free, structurally, the underside of this car along with the shock towers and trunk pan, are super dry, clean and VERY RUST-FREE! The chrome bumpers, grill and trim on this classic "Roundie" appear to be original and in good, slightly worn condition. The RE-painted body panels have much patina....fading, bubbling, pitting and brush touched-up areas along with a few isolated corrosion areas at the bottom of the front fenders and rockers. I, personally would completely redo this car back to the original Granada red color.

THE INTERIOR
As I hope is articulated in the photos here, the interior of this 1970 BMW 2002 is in quite extraordinary original condition with highlights being near flawless crack-free three piece dash, working odometer and all other gauges, nicely lit gauges, original salt and pepper loop carpeting, original vinyl seat upholstery, beautiful headliner with working dome light and nice chrome trim accents on seat sides. Imperfections inside the car include seam splitting on the driver seat bottom, some staining on the carpets and mats, missing center console/dangling wires, horn inop and basic wear and tear. Overall this is one cool classic cockpit!

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This 1970 BMW starts well with a nice snarl though a bit cold blooded until it warms up. The engine runs strong with excellent power and some snap crackle and pop from the dual carbs which could use some fine tuning. The steering is tight with good feel and the suspension has a good spunky feel. The brakes seem like they could use another system flush or an upgrade to a tii booster perhaps.Overall this is one cool little driving machine that would benefit from the next step of dialing it in.
