Description for BMW 6-Series 1985
BMW has always built some of the finest sports-luxury cars in the world. This 635CSI is a classic example of the type of GT Coupe that they built their reputation on. It looks great and drives better than most cars being made today, even though it was built over 30 years ago. Alpine white is an appropriate color for this car from Bavaria. It looks clean and solid. There is a body line, highlighted by a pin stripe, that runs... the length of the car and enhances the low, stable look. The front of the car leads with that immediately recognizable BMW grill and round logo on the hood. Quad headlights above, and fog lights below the bumper assure that you have great lighting no matter what the road or conditions are like. The hood and trunk both slope down aerodynamically. This makes the car stable at speed, even autobahn like speeds, and provides for great visibility in parking lots. It also leads to a distinctive look and style to the car. Twin chrome tail pipes exiting the center in the back, and 17-inch racing style wheels from the factory remind you that there is more to this car than just its good looks. Open the door and you will find a beige leather interior that speaks directly to the sports-luxury orientation of this car. Sit down in the driver's seat that offers power adjustable comfort for long distance driving, as well as lateral support so you can enjoy taking the back roads to your destination if you prefer. Notice how solid the door sounds and feels as you close it. That is German build quality at its best. The three spoke leather wheel feels good in your hands and the dash gauges are clearly visible through it. Heat, A/C, and ventilation controls are in the upper dash, just above the stereo, and power window switches are located on either side of the floor shifter. It wouldn't be considered a Grand Touring car unless it pampered your back-seat passengers too. So, they also have contoured leather bucket seats with a fold down arm rest between them for their comfort. As a traveling machine, you will notice the nice sized trunk that has plenty of room for luggage for 4. BMW has a long history of building powerful 6-cylinder engines, and this one is no exception. It is a 3.5-liter motor that was developed on the race track, and has proven itself reliable on the road. Power is sent to the back wheels through a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission. Front engine, rear drive cars have a different feel to them than front wheel drive, or all-wheel drive cars. That difference is especially noticeable during spirited driving. Cruising down the highway is a pleasure in this car, but the BMW engineers designed the suspension to inspire confidence on Alpine roads, and gave it big, powerful, 4-wheel disc brakes too. So, go ahead, enjoy taking the long way home if you wish. It's nice to know that this car was well taken care of during its life too, so don't forget to ask your salesman about the maintenance records and factory owners-manual that come with this car too. BMW has always been known as a driver's car. So, come on down and drive this one.
