Description for BMW M5 1991
1991 BMW M5. 173,3xx miles. I bought the car off of craigslist many years ago with 156,000 miles. I believe I am the 3rd owner. I drove this car fairly regularly. Only recently driving such a rare classic to and from work has started to wear on my conscience. That being said it is a great driving car. The mileage will go up a small amount as I don't let a vehicle of this age just sit. Interior is in good shape, although the door cards have begun to show wear, but are intact (common separation, just need to be re adhered, very common for this model 5 series). Leather seats are in good condition for a true survivor of this age, there are no tears and very few cracks, the integrity of the leather is intact. Both seats are full power and heated. Alpine head unit. Headliner is NOT sagging at all.Factory integrated K40 Radar Detector that works amazing, has kept me out of several possible tickets. Original matching spare in the trunk. Have all four original turbine wheel covers. Full SuperSprint Exhaust (headers back). SLS deleted with H&R Sport Springs over Bilstein Shocks. Racing Dynamics sway/roll bars front and rear with poly bushings. The ride of the car is sporty but not harsh, and the stance looks great too. The car cranks every time and is in great mechanical shape. Starts and operates as it should. This car still pulls like a freight train, the S38 inline 6 was truly ahead of its time. Outside of regular fluid changes the only repairs that were required was a new head gasket around 165,000 (all compressions were checked post repair and are great). There is a small dent in the driver door skin and has been there since I bought the vehicle. This dent is the reason I am not asking over $20,000.I would love to keep this car another ten years and maximize my investment. My priorities have changed and I will no longer have indoor storage for this beauty. So few are left the values will continue to rise. With some TLC this could be a $35-40,000 example as it is numbers matching original.
