Description for BMW 5-Series 1988

This car was found in a barn in Rhode Island. The initial restoration work, putting in the oversized cam, the brakes and getting it road ready was completed by a retired BMW tech. I purchased this automobile a little over a year ago from the son of the BMW tech with the intent of making the car as close to factory as possible. I paid $6,750.00 for the car and have put an additional $19,000.00. All the work done while I have owned the car has been completed by a company local to me which is known across the country for restoring BMWs. The engine is very strong, it has a lot of power, is fun to drive -- it is mechanically sound and runs well. You may have noticed same car in the latest Mission Impossible episode. Unfortunately, family demands have made the goal of restoring this great car a more distant dream. I have resolved to sell the car in the hopes someone else will pick up where I began. It would be a great project for someone and it is much further along today than when I picked it up.
When I purchased the vehicle, I had the above mentioned restoration shop perform an evaluation on the vehicle, and I have kept all the records of the work that I have had completed on it. I am happy to supply all of this information to serious buyers. Local pick up or you can arrange shipping.
