Description for BMW 5-Series 1983

Hi!

Up for bid is my 1983 BMW 528e E28. It is in fantastic original survivor condition for it's age, and runs/drives beautifully. Here are the specific details:
INTERIOR:
It has the original Tan interior (8/10...no tears except for the pin-sized one I have pictured...easily repaired. No fading or cracking...really in terrific shape). The headliner, visors, and header all are beautiful. The carpet is in fantastic condition as well, with less-than-normal wear from what you'd usually expect from being a daily driver. No balding spots or anything like that. Shampoo it and it would be awesome. Dashboard has the normal cracks towards the back, but still looks good. The glove box works perfectly, locks, and looks great. This has also obviously been a 100% non-smoker-owned vehicle, because there is no hint of residual smell whatsoever. It's obviously been a well-cared-for car, because the whole cabin feels and smells clean and dry for a 1983.

EXTERIOR:

This is a west coast vehicle, and the body is about as rust-free as you can get. It is VERY straight, save for a couple very small normal dings commensurate to normal use (nothing you notice unless you are specifically looking for them very closely), and a small area right around the fuel door where it appeared to rub up against something (NO denting whatsoever...just some light scraping that can easily be seen on the close-up photo I've provided). It has the original Artic Blau Blue paint...the clear coat is peeling in several places, but the paint itself still looks good. All glass is in really nice shape as well. Again, it obviously was very well cared for by it's previous owners.
MECHANICAL:

It runs and drives REALLY nicely...fires right up every time, engine is strong, and steering/suspension/brakes etc rock solid. The odometer shows 230K miles, but the engine runs so strong I'd have to guess that there's been some work done on it at least semi-recently. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and flawlessly. The tires are all matching Les Schwab (highly-regarded tire company on the west coast) tires purchased new and installed at the same time about 5K miles ago, and it has a full-sized spare in the trunk (looks like it's never been used). Headlights/tail lights/brake lights all work great. It looks like the exhaust may have been straight-piped. So it's a little loud, but not too bad. Good news is that it is ready for you to add a muffler, glasspack, or whatever other exhaust modification you desire. All in all, it was obviously a daily driver before I had it (and has been my daily driver for a couple months), because it's definitely been maintained like one.
All power windows and moonroof work perfectly, and it has a nice Kenwood blue-tooth stereo deck that works great.
The only issues are: 1) The overhead onboard computer is not currently working (could just be a fuse, or it's a cheap part to get off Ebay and easy to install), 2) The lights on the gauge cluster go on and off randomly all the time...it might be tied to the overhead computer being out (Speedometer, Odometer, and other gauges all work perfectly though) 3) Heat works, and the fan blows. But I can't get it to come out anything other than the main vents and the floor for some reason.
Obviously none of these issues affect the way it runs, drives, or looks.
It has a CLEAN Oregon title with tabs good all the way through September of 2020. It was a donated vehicle that I purchased at auction, and it has all the paperwork that shows it is in my name with the signed-over title, which makes it hassle-free when you take it in to get it titled in your name...as easy as it gets!
THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, SO THE BIMMER WILL ABSOLUTELY BE SOLD TO THE WINNING BIDDER. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO REMIT THE $500 DEPOSIT WITHIN 24 HOURS TO AVOID ANY DELAYS. I assume that if you bid, you are serious and prepared to purchase if you win, so please be respectful and move swiftly if that's the case, and I promise to do the same on my end :) The remaining balance can be paid via Google Pay (Gpay), Zelle, or pretty much any other arrangement that works for you.

SHIPPING IS THE BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRANGE. Again, please do so in a timely fashion after our transaction is complete. And of course, local pick-up can always be arranged.
