Description for BMW 3-Series 1991
Up for sale is my 1991 BMW 318is E30 non-sunroof car. I’ve owned this car for almost three years but must part with it unfortunately. I enjoyed the car very much but unfortunately do not have the space to work on it anymore so I must part with it. The exterior of the vehicle was a bit dull and was polished and rejuvenated when I bought the car bringing the shine back. The paint is still in excellent condition. There are one or two small spots where some clear has peeled but is barely noticeable. This is a mostly rust free car. There are tiny amounts on the battery tray. This vehicle is a “slicktop” non-sunroof car making it one of the lightest E30’s out there. The wheels are MSW OZ classic wheels (very rare) that have been Plasti-Dipped in gold. The original color is silver. The interior of the vehicle is in very good condition. Seats are straight and almost immaculate except for the driver’s seat which has some cracks on the side bolster. The carpet needs a cleanup and there are a few cracks in the dashboard but the rest of the interior is excellent. The car has premium speakers and an original (dealer installed I believe) 6 CD changer in the trunk. Mechanically the car has a solid motor that runs strong. It has a small vacuum leak (hoses are old from sitting) and it takes a few minutes to start her up because of that. Sometimes there is acceleration stutter because of the leak. The car drives and shifts smoothly except for 5th gear which has a bad synchro it makes a little grind if you don’t revmatch. The gear works fine however. I’ve replaced many parts for brand new ones and I’ve driven the car for less than 50 miles with them: - New Febi/Bilstein clutch slave cylinder - New Graf water pump (Metal Impeller) - All New Contitech Rubber Belts - New Behr Thermostat - New Bosch fuel pump (with modified carrier) - Used low mileage OEM Alternator - New KYB Struts/Shocks - Used excellent H&R Sport springs - New Brake Fluid - Coolant Flush New Coolant - New Kuhmo Ecsta 205/50/15 tires all around - New BatteryThe vehicle ran and drove smoothly and had a smooth yet firm ride. It was comfortable yet very capable and handled extremely well. There are a few parts that need to be replaced/repaired; both cv axles have torn boots and are leaking grease they would need to be rebooted or replaced. Also the rear right hub has a bad bearing and makes noise. The differential seal is leaking fluid; that would need to be repaired or replaced. The steering rack had a leak so the fluid was drained and the steering pump belt was disconnected. The handling is more direct as a result. A refurbished rack is included with the car as well as a new pump belt. The car has been sitting for months and just needs a little love to make it a perfect daily/track car. Apart from that this is an excellent example of a clean E30 that you can fix and make into a clean reliable daily driver or swap motors and turn it into a lightweight track vehicle. The vehicle is being sold as-is. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.On Jun-08-15 at 11:55:14 PDT seller added the following information:I've received questions regarding shipping the vehicle. I will assist with any shipping arrangements you may have. I highly recommend shipping the vehicle to your destination rather than driving it.More detailed pictures of the vehicle the small paint chips and the undercarriage:
