Description for Buick Other 1965

Selling my 1965 Buick Special. Had this car for a couple of years now. Had big plans for it, ut lost interest and now it's just sitting in my driveway. The cars runs and drives, ut does have some minor issues. It has the 225ci odd-fire "Fireball" V6 engine and 2-speed Super Turbine (TH300) automatic transmission. The car has 80k original miles on it and is in pretty good shape, ut does have some issues still.

Mechanically, verything is in pretty good working order. The engine is in great shape with no knocking, attling or smoking. I recently replaced the timing chain and guides in the engine (a known issue with these) with a Cloyes timing set. I've also given it a full tune-up, replaced the ignition coil with a Pertronix FlameThrower coil and rebuilt the carburetor. However, think the carb needs to be replaced anyway, r something repaired with it as the car stumbles off idle when driving. Once you get past the stumble it drives fine, ut pulling away from a stop it stumbles a bit and makes it difficult to get moving quickly.. May be a worn throttle shaft or something, ot sure, ut it seems to be the carburetor causing it. The transmission works flawlessly and the rear is smooth and quiet. Everything is 100% stock with the exception of a custom dual exhaust added, heels and rear air shocks.

Body wise, he car is fairly solid, ut does have some rust issues associated with a car this old that was not garage kept. Mainly, here is rust around the rear window. And as you can see in the pics, he trunk floor is pretty shot. You could probably get away with patching it, ut ideally it should be replaced. Underneath, he whole car was undercoated many years ago and it seems to have preserved it quite well. The frame is solid and there doesn't appear to be any rust in the floors. Otherwise, here is a small rust spot towards the rear of the passenger side wheel well and some pitting starting in the quarter drop-off behind it. The grill is pushed in and cracked on the passenger side as someone almost backed into it previously and their trailer hitch poked the grill. Easily replaceable. And the rear bumper is tweaked on the left rear corner. Note, n the walk around pics, he headlight bezels are missing. I took them out to clean and polish them and forgot they weren't in when I took the pics. The full grill pic shows them installed again.

Interior is decent, ut is starting to show it's age. The stitching in the headliner has come apart so it is falling down. You can get a new one for around $80 online. The sunvisors are the same way, titching came apart. Dash is solid. Seats are decent, ut one seam has started to separate on the front seat and there is some fading and discoloration Carpets have some staining and sun damage as well, ut no heavy wear. Overall, ot too bad for a 50 year old car. It does have an aftermarket Kenwood CD player added to the dash along with 6x9" speakers in the rear deck. Sounds great.

Overall, ot bad for a 50 year old car that was outside most of its life. Car is bone stock with the exception of the dual exhaust and I added some reconditioned 15" Buick rally wheels to it. It has the factory horn button from the steering wheel, ut there is another button added on the dash so it works (common on these older GM's). But with a little TLC, it could be a nice driver again. Tires are fairly new and brakes work fine (as fine as you could expect from 4 wheel manual drum brakes).

Only selling because I lost interest and want to move on to something else. Had planned on dropping a 455 big block into it, lamming it to the ground and blacking it out, ut just never got around to it. I still drive it once in a while, ut not much. Just taking up driveway space now. Looking for old Torino, anchero or Fairlane, o if you're close by and have one of these in half decent shape (drivetrain not required), aybe we can work something out.

Car must be picked up here in Collegeville, A 19426 (google it if you need directions). I would recommend towing it unless you're pretty close by. I can arrange delivery if needed for $2 a mile, ut car must be paid for in full first. Deposit due within 24 hours via PayPal, emaining due in cash within 7 days. If you need time to make arrangements for pickup, can hold the car an additional 2 weeks at no charge as long as it is paid for in the specified time frame.
