Description for Buick Other 1955
Up for bids is a car I have built, oved and owned for the last 25 years. She is affectionatelyreferredto as, Tune Buick'. She's kept in the garage and driven as much as possible when the weather is good. The last 3 years I've taken her on 2,000 mile road trips and she has performed flawlessly. The drivetrain was all changed over to a modern drivetrain about eight years and 40,000 miles ago. Finally getting rid of the awful enclosed driveline! It's a HO small block 350 Chevy roller motor that has been warmed up a bit, oned, orted, ored and balanced. Went with Sportsman II angle plug heads. Those have been massaged to 68cc with 9.3 to 1 compression. 4 bolt main with roller cam, ockers and lifters, djustable true roller timing chain, orged polished rods and new pistons.A Edelbrock dual plane Performer manifold sits atop the motor with a 4 barrel carb and aaluminumold style Caddy twin snorkel air cleaner..... I tell people it's just a special version of an LT1 ( Looney Tune 1) or TPI ( Tune Port Injection) just for fun, esides their eyes glaze over when I go into all the details! It does have the larger size ramhorn heat coated exhaust manifolds with 2 1/2" dual exhaust and a crossover. The side pipes are not hooked up--- but they're cool! Rebuilt original IFS with drum brakes front and rear with dropped spindles. Custom built 700R4 with a shift kit. Four bar suspension into a narrowed 9" rear end with 350 gears and a posi with Mark Williams 31-spline axels with the 3 major bolt patterns in them ( just in case you find those rare wheels....) and a partridge in a pear tree ( kidding! ) Speaking of, have the coolest Concept Neeper wheels ever! They are hard to come by and I have a spare! If you've been into old cars long, ou will understand my excitement when you've been looking for a part that has eluded you for a long time.....I just replaced the front windshield after the last road trip to the coast. It was painted 23 years ago and shows some wear and rock chips ( it's the first chip, hen you foam at the mouth, lop in the floor and think the world will end. Now I just enjoy the heck out of it cause it's a blast! ) There are two small spots down low on the body by the sidepipes in front of the rear wheels where the paint is bubbling a little. There's also a spot on the top passenger side rear quarter panel. The hood hinges need rebuilt because if someone not paying attention closing the hood they'll chip the paint. I take very good care of her and she shows very well. I have the trophies to prove it! Four of the six portholes have Looney Tune Characters in them as well.
Inside is a power split bench seat with a pulldown armrest/console out of a newer chevy pickup. Stitched up in gray & charcoal leather and vinyl. Seats are embroidered with a special "Tune Buick" crest, eadliner is in 3-D and the package tray and door panels are 3-D and hand painted using vinyl ink and a very small brush. Each door panel depicts a different scene in B & W from my favorite Looney Tune cartoons ( Duck Dodgers in the 24 and a half Century ( Marvin & Bugs), obin Hood Daffy ( Daffy and Porky), ne Froggy Evening ( Michigan J. Frog) and Barber of Seville ( Bugs and Elmer) The package tray features Bugs, affy, arvin the Martian and Taz. The headliner is 3-D too, focal point that ends in the famous WB (Warner Brothers) shield. It is a great tribute to the great animator's of the past. Guys like FrizFrelengand Chuck Jones. Not to mention the man who gave them all a voice, el Blanc... Which makes it the ultimate one-of-a-kind piece for any animation collector. Think of it your own personal, ife size CARtoon!!
It also has a high zoot hidden stereo system with it's ownseparateOptima battery to power it. It has a 50+1 CD changer with voice activation and a remote control etc. etc etc... The trunk is all done except the lid. With a big 'Tune Buick' embroidered crest and a false floor with a compartment for tools. Comes with it's fitted car cover.
The last few pictures ( past the Bronco helmet) are to show the imperfections. If I didn't get your questions answered, lease feel free to ask....
