Bidders: This further description has been researched and provided by a gentleman that had questions about this Buick earlier today. He thumbed through his volumes of Buick literature and found an exact description of what this car is. He did this on his own and really to help myself and all of you. He definitely has a great deal of knowledge and I really appreciate the clarification. Thanx Art. I really appreciate the help.
In one of my Crest Line books I found a few 1942 models stopped for the war efforts (same as 1941 and 1946) so buick sold some promotional post war buick specials at a reduced rate ti totall phase out the old style since 1941, old around 5000,worldwide, some in Australia, ars hard to get after the war, nd after a few months was dis continued. do your hoods open from the front or did someone add front hinges to open from the front then left to right. That photo also threw me. so you have a rare 1949 limited sale model used since 1941,42. Its a freak, r in car talk, rare find one of a kind 1949 buick Special.
