Description for Buick Skylark 1968
Against my better judgement, am putting my 1968 Buick Sportwagon 400 up for sale. I purchased this car about 8 years ago for an investment and have aquired too many cars and lack of storage, o I'm going to clean house a littleThis is a 1968 Buick Sport Wagon 400, nbsp;400 V8 Motor with (I was told) actual 74,400 Miles on it, nbsp;I do believe the mileage correct. I'm not sure where the car was from, ut I purchased it in Southern Ohio. The Motor runs great with no lifter noise or smoking, think it will need carb adjustment and tune up, eems flat when giving it gas. Will need brakes looked at but does stop, aybe low on fluid. Also needs exhaust, ront exhaust is there but no muffler or tail pipes. I haven't done anything to this car since I purchased it. My plans were to make a GS Clone, s you can see in the pictures, collected parts for the car. A Solid 1968 GS Hood, 1000 (I have the original Blue Hood that goes with the car) I also purchased a complete "Mint" dash and Pad in black. with all the instruments in it. Great spare parts. The dash pad is perfect. I was going to change to black interior. The car has new carpet in it. needs door pads (you can buy new for very reasonable.) Back seat is like new, ront seat needs recovered. I just put "Brand New" 17 inch RETRO Wheels and BF Goodrich Tires on the car. There is 2 Sets of Original Hub Caps, oll of upholstery, nd Carpeting. The Body is Rust Free and clean underneath (very Clean) No Scale, o floor, oors, enders, uarters rust. The car has been repainted at some time, ut not the inner doors. THERE IS NO SIGN OF BODY FILLER OR PATCHING on this car. Inside door jams and wheel wells are in Excellent Shape. There are (2) rust issues in weird places.there is a rust hole in the metal part of the dash at the windshield, easy to patch and get at. ) There is NO COWL rust. The other rust is at the bottom of the tailgate on the exterior, flat spot and easy to repair) No inner tailgate rust. I do have a rust free tail gate that I may let go with the car, epending what it goes for.I have $1000 into the gate and I have other wagons I can use it on. I just pulled this car out of storage and washed it, hecked the following, ll Power Windows Work, ncluding tail gate window) Headlights worked and tail lights, ome parking lights need bulbs. Radio lit up when turned on, eater fan worked good, ir conditioning is all there, ut no belt on the compressor. All Glass is Excellent, o cracks or chips. The Chrome trim on the car is Excellent, nbsp;the bumpers are great for the year. There is a dent in the back bumper that I would have straightened because of no pitting in the bumper. all the trim and stainless is excellent with no dents. the car is very straight with signs of small door dings here and there. Also have brand new GS Grille emblem going with the car. Have been watching for a 68 GS grill, ut no luck. the Hood is rock solid and has only surface rust. The car has sat in my garage for about 8 years and very surprised about minimal leak on garage floor for that many years. I can send video of car running and many more pics to you via textfeel free to call me with any questions 231-499-8667 Steve, nbsp;Car is sold as Is "Car is not road worthy, o will have to be shipped or trailered. Shipping is responsible by the buyer, nbsp; Also, here is no trim or panels for this car that are missing. The back panels are in the car and looks like someone was going to re-upholster them with a roll of material. It will take very little to get this car on the road and is very presentable the way it is with exception of painting the hood.On Oct-03-15 at 11:36:06 PDT, eller added the following information:
In digging out the title, have the original title from original owners out of new mexico. Have protecto plate manuals and original paper work that goes with the car
