Description for Buick Skylark 1968

Up for sale is this 1968 Buick GS 400 4 speed that I just purchased from the original owner. He ordered it new in 1968. Very rare car with only 1. 32 ever made. It is an all original numbers matching car and was special ordered with manual transmission. anual steering. nd manual brakes. This GS400 was the preview to the GS 455 and stage 1 cars that came out later on. Car was originally Aqua blue with white interior. The car has been off the road since 1976. It resided at an auto tech shop that the original owner taught at and it stayed there on site for years. It was taken apart there and some poor body work performed in that time. He brought it home in 2000 and decided to fix it properly. So. e pulled the motor and rebuilt it to stock specs. nstalled a new clutch kit and checked over the Muncie M22 transmission and it was all reinstalled. He removed the bumpers and grille along with the chrome trim and windshield so he could start the repair properly. He also removed the seats and carpet. upon starting the fresh motor up and letting it break in. e decided to take it out in the road to turn it around and drive it into his garage. He stepped on it in the road and the car spun around and landed on its side in the ditch smashing the drivers side of the car just how you see it. It sat in his garage ever since. ll apart with parts all over the place. I got the car just how you see it in the pics. I rounded up all of the parts that i could find at his house. et the seats in the car and brought it home. I think that I have most everything to it. The bumpers are with it but the back one is bent. grille is broken too. As you can see. he body needs work. I have removed the hood but that is all. Car has body filler in various places. The windshield is not present. The frame is in good shape. The interior is dirty from sitting. The drivers seat is torn but the others appear good. The seats are not bolted in. Car has no power options. It was bought to be a street racer back in the day. Like I stated above. his is an all numbers matching Big block 4 speed Buick Gran Sport. The carburetor. istributor and alternator are matching as well. Hard to find (RARE)car that deserves a full restoration. I went out today and tried to start the car. Oiled down the cylinders and primed the pump. There is no gas tank in it now as the one in it had a hole. So I ran a hose into a can and tried to start it. It cranked but had no spark. So I borrowed a distributor from another car to try it. I hooked it up and the car started right up. I ran it for a few minutes before it ran out of gas. an really well for sitting so long. It will need a distributor as I took the donor one back out. May just have a set of dirty points? Feel free to email me with a cell phone number that will accept pictures and I will forward you a clip of the car running today if you are a serious buyer.
