Description for Buick LeSabre 1962
You are looking at one of very few buick lesabres left with this color combination and still wearing its original camelot rose born with laquer paint. This car also has its original Rose colored interior. One look at all the close up photos will show how nice this car has survived over the years. With the exception of the dash pad and rear package shelf nothing has been done to this interior. The paint on the car has had a few Nicks and scratches put on it over its lifetime and a few small blends of touch up, but the luster has remained and the color is just striking out in the sun. All the trim and chrome is in really nice shape, the pot metal and stainless is near perfect. All the windows are original and crack or pit free. All the windows inside of the car rolled down with ease. All the lights, wipers, radio and even the speed warning works and that is shown in one of the videos provided in the link that can be shared (ebay wont allow it in text). The drivetrain (401 2bl) was gone through less than 1000 miles ago by the previous owner. It was a top-to-bottom engine rebuild totaling near $7,000. He had a friend in the Buick Club perform the work and because of that I don't have receipts for it but one listen and drive in the car you will know that it was totally gone through. Brakes were all gone through, from a new master/booster down to the aluminum drums. The slim jim Style 2 speed automatic performs as they all do. If you are unfamiliar with these transmissions they do not operate like a standard automatic transmission. They do not have a torque converter and they just switch RPMs. They don't technically shift unless you were to use the passing year in which it will kick down some. The car has led a sheltered life and originally came out of the Cleveland Ohio area where it was always garaged. I found it in Arizona early this year and the gentleman I bought it from was selling it on behalf of his dad. They looked long and hard for a very nice original Survivor car for him as he used to have one back in the day. This was his Snowbird car to drive while visiting in Arizona during the winter months. He was getting to an age were travelling wasn't in his best interest and therefore the sale of the car. It has been in Arizona dor the last 15 years The car runs and drives absolutely beautiful, the power steering is a one-finger typer power steering it is that smooth and easy to operate. The fan the heater all the controls work the kick panel vents open with ease and these cars even had a rear selector vent switch that provides air underneath the front seat to the people sitting in the back. The trunk is untouched and the original felt is still all glued in place which is hard to find nowadays. The car has an optional gas door guard, spotlamp and power antenna (not working). The radio works and clock recently has stopped. The cars stance comes from cut front coils with new lower ball joints and fresh alignment. Out in back the rear coils were heated some to achieve the proper stance as they could not be cut due to their design. The car rides great even with 4 people in it and does not bottomed out and handles very very well. The wheels and tires have less than 500 miles on them and were bought new this year just for this car. They are Billet Specialties (vintec) Wheels and they are 18 inch in front 20 inch in the rear and really set off the look of the car. I also have the original steel wheels on white wall tires if one desires to go that route. The car is truly a time capsule and out of any car I've ever owned it garners the most attention everywhere I take it. People admire the color and they always say they've never seen another one. Car is factory undercoated and there are no rot holes or patch panels in this one. I reserve the right to end auction early as its for sale locally. Car is located in the Milwaukee area 90 miles north of Chicago.
