Description for Buick Electra 1964
1964 Buick Electra 225 | 56. 00 original miles!! Yes. the car is for sale again. In light of the last bidder's reason for canceling. I feel the need to update my intro to include another other reason you should NOT buy this car: If a significant other (or someone you love) is dying. it might not be a good idea to bid on really anything material or non-essential. Turns out death is a definite turn-off for most any of your other interests. Let's try this again: If your first thought after seeing the above picture is something like. "Geee. I wonder what kind of mileage this car gets" or "Can I run it on regular because the high octane gas is SOOOOO expensive" or if the only tools you own exist in single drawer in the kitchen with the chip clips and rubber bands. GO BUY A F*CKING HONDA. Seriously. do yourself a favor and don't buy this car if you're not a true car person. Yeah. yeah. yeah. I get it. you like cars. Well. I like women -- in fact. I love women -- but I enjoy them from afar; I look and appreciate. but I don't dare flirt or touch. I am 100% accepting of the fact I DON'T know how the hell to please a woman (or even begin to understand the whole diamond thing). and I am therefore single. You. being NOT a car person. should do the same (yeah. deal with it). I mean. why would I bother depressing any number of single ladies with my version of a 'fancy' date (dinner at Whole Foods?). when I can simply go to Whole Foods alone and enjoy a premium subset of the female species in their natural habitat (shopping for organic food in hundreds of dollars of Lululemon yoga pants). It's a win-win: I get great food with a view. and the ladies don't have to worry about awkward 'ole me trying to make conversation about Ginkgo Biloba. Gluten sensitivity. or which gym has the better elliptical (it's sooooooo Pure Austin Fitness). Ok. so what does that mean for you. Mr. 'I-have-never-gotten-grease-under-my-fingernails-and-have-no-idea-what-a-condenser-is' guy? Well. I recommend attending the nearest car show in your Toyondawagen and being happy about it. Are we clear? Good. Now. on to the car. Overview/Mechanical This is an all-original '64 Electra 225 that runs on sexism. bourbon & cigarettes. and cat-calls. The paint is original. the interior is original. and the drivetrain is original. Does it have flaws? Sure. Does it have anything to hide? Nope. With a touch under 56. 00 miles from new. the car drives exceptionally well with tight steering and ass-clench-inducing power from the Wildcat 445 V8 (401 cubic inch nailhead). Regular maintenance is up to date with the following being performed recently: Engine oil and filter Transmission fluid and filter New tires New water pump & thermostat New fan clutch New brake master cylinder New spark plugs. cap. and rotor Rebuilt Carter AFB New exhaust system by Muffin Muffler (from the manifolds back) Want to see and hear it run? Check out the videos at the bottom of the page. Exterior All original and in very nice shape. Paint shows well and there is zero real rust anywhere on the body panels. Being that the car is 50 years old. there are some cosmetic issues which I've listed below (all of which can be seen in the photos): Small dent in the lip of the trunk lid. Two small holes in the lip of the trunk lid from the dealer emblem. Small dent on the front passenger side fender just above the headlights. General 50 year-old paint fade. Passenger side fender skirt has been re-painted and anchored with screws in addition to the original mechanism (which works fine). Paint has various chips in it on the passenger side door. Interior All original with the only slight tears showing on the back of the driver's side front seat. The dash is perfect with zero cracks and the steering wheel is near perfect (with only slight separation near the chrome accents between the two colors). Headliner is perfect with no sags or stretching. Everything functions as it should (including all of the vacuum operated ventilation controls. the glovebox trunk release. the speed warning buzzer. all gauges and hot/cold and other warning lights. and the AM radio).
