The Buick Riviera was not a muscle car, per se, but it had a tremendous impact on the American automotive scene. The Riviera represented one of the most successful American attempts at capturing European styling and performance in a large automobile. Positioned at the top of Buick's coupe line up, the Riviera always represented cutting edge styling and performance and deserves a place in American automotive history, and recently its been the 65 Clam Shell Rivieras that have become extremely desirable and valuable.
All 1965 Riviera's received minor new exterior styling, including headlights that were stacked in front of the fenders and were covered by clam shell doors when not in use. The taillights were also restyled and now stretched almost the entire width of the car. Top speed was estimated at 125 mph so these cars blurred the line between luxury and muscle. History: The Riviera has been beautifully maintained through out its life and has had a 3 owner history since new. Mechanically the car is impressive today and as a result of regular maintenance it has stood the test of time and according to owner as 125900 actual miles. The 401 Nailhead engines are notoriously strong and the car still responds beautifully when you get on the gas. At some point the Riviera has been restored, the exterior and interior have since been nicely preserved. The Arctic White paint still shows very well, not number 1 show quality of course, but straight and true with a good shine great for any Sunday cruise or local car show. The interior is impressive, dash looks beautiful, the stylish Riviera gauge package equally as impressive, and the cabin provides a beautiful driving experience, loads of fun and the car gets thumbs up where ever it goes. The interior seats are exceptional. Carpet in good shape showing some wear. There is no evidence of replacement panels on the car, very straight, no wobbly body work, just straight Riviera metal. Chrome bumpers look great with a nice shine. Wheels are original and do show wear as they typically do..easily replaced or restore if you choose. Overall the Riviera is a great driver quality car you can enjoy daily, take to shows, or cruise on those sunny days...
