Overview Of Entire Vehicle: *Condition #3 Overall (Excellent Driver)

Here is an absolutely great find. It is a very rare and desirable 1971 Buick Riviera Gran Sport Boat tail coupe. This is a very cool and rare car that you almost never see. I would say this is a nice, solid, original type car that has had only one repaint. It is a 79K original mile car and it shows. A little history on this car, is that is has been a one family owned car for most all of its life. The long time owner purchased the car when it was only a year old. He kept it until the day he died and willed it to his children, which we bought the car from. It has always been very well cared for, its whole life. This is one of only 3,157, true Gran Sports produced in 1971. It has a mostly all original, Rosewood interior that is in over all very nice condition. The exterior shows excellent with only one repaint done in its original color of very rare Sunset Mist. All original chrome that shows excellent and just an overall great presentation of a quality, solid car. It is a southern car all its life and 99.8 percent rust free. To top it all off, it is powered by its original 455ci V8 engine with factory air conditioning that blows ice cold. These boat tail Rivera GS's have been skyrocketing in value lately. As there are so few out there anymore and even less nice ones. This is a great driver as it is not too nice to drive, but still looks amazing in person and shows great at any car show!

Exterior: *Condition #3

This car really shows great. It has a beautiful, paint finish done in its original color Sunset Mist that really shines wonderfully. It was only painted once, several years ago and is a nice driver quality finish with some minor flaws here and there. Just from age, like some minor chips that have been touched up and a few small scratches. It still looks to have retained its original paint in all the jams. All the panels have great fit and finish also. The body is super straight and 99.9 percent rust free with only two very minor bubbles in the left and right lower front fenders. They are hardly noticeable. All the chrome and trim look to be in excellent original condition and all has a great shine. All of the glass looks to be excellent. It is sitting on its original steel wheels with optional turbine hubcaps and white wall tires.

Interior: *Condition #3

It has a very clean, mostly all original rosewood interior that looks excellent. The seats, door panels and headliner are all original and excellent. The front bottom seat cushion, headrests and drivers door panel armrest was redone the right way. The carpet looks to have been redone with the correct loop and color. The dash and gauge cluster is bright and clean. The dash pad is perfect with no cracks and the steering wheel is wonderful. It has what looks to be possibly original paint in the door jams and very nice original weather stripping. The trunk is nice and original with original trunk material, spare and jack. Everything seems to work in the car except for the radio and clock.

Mechanically: *Condition #3+

The car runs and drives excellent. It has its correct TA Coded, 455ci V8 engine with smooth shifting automatic transmission. The engine looks to have been very well maintained with no smoke and very dry with no leaks. Under the hood is very clean, correct and original. The air conditioning was serviced and blows ice cold. It truly runs and drives like a nice, low mileage car should, showing only 79k miles. It is very quiet, tight and a pleasure to drive!

Under Carriage: *Condition #3+

The underside is very clean, original and completely solid. It is completely rust free with no undercoating or repairs. It is truly the way anyone would love to find any car, just dry and original. The exhaust system is older but is nice still and sounds great. The suspension is nice and tight and has a great feel still with nothing appeared to be worn out. This is a super dry, southern under carriage.
