Description for Buick Riviera 1973
All original 1973 Boat-tail Riviera with a running 455 8-cylinder engine, automatic transmission & a clear title - new tires put on a few years ago have not been driven out of the driveway - started yearly for code compliance; must run & be able to move forward & backward - was last started using a hose in a fresh can of gas because gas in the tank is old. 16,751 miles showing on the odometer which I assume is 116,751 - Someone tried to steal this car before I got it which caused some damage - back rear driver's side window was broken which I replaced, however, the rear seat, carpeting & floor board sustained water damage - I have not removed the front seat & carpet to see if the floor has more damage - there are several small holes in the roof skin which can either be repaired or a new metal roof skin welded on ( there are two layers to the roof; the outer metal skin & the inner structural part that the headliner attaches to) - the holes could probably be patched & covered with a new vinyl roof. The channels around the front & back windows need to be rebuilt with new metal - the collar around the steering column needs to be replaced/repaired? The ignition needs to be held in position to start because the collar is not in place - I have the pieces which were broken from the theft attempt. This car came from Arizona originally & was undercoated so the frame is probably fine - pretty straight vehicle with no evidence of previous wrecks - the front bumper was tapped from the side which bent the brackets that attach it to the car; the bumper is fine - there is a factory AC system which I have never tried to start - needs new steering wheel & driver's door handle repaired (think I have the old one) There are plenty of parts to sell should you just want the engine out of it - good fenders, bumpers, set of original wheels, glass all around, including the rare rear window which sells for a hefty amount - I was offered $1,250 for the engine/transmission by an ASE certified mechanic who started the car & heard the engine run, but then he didn't have the money to purchase. Parts to restore are available on Ebay, including new floorboard metal. Free local pick-up available in San Antonio - please check on shipping prices before bidding! - I've tried to list the major repairs that are needed for restoration but this vehicle is being sold "as is" for parts - I make no guarantee that any parts are working - $200.00 non-refundable deposit is within 24 hours of the auction's end& full payment within three days - any questions, please ask!
