Description for Buick Special 1956
Started as a 17k mile survivor and was converted into a radical full chassis street rod. She's far from the prettiest if you aren't drawn to the patina/ratrod look but all the original Detroit steel is very straight and bondo free. The original dash and interior is intact. She's a riot of a driver as is, but would also be an awesome candidate for a killer show and/or serious race car.Driveline
- Built Powerglide w/ converter to a built Dana 60 w/ spool, 31 spline strange axles
- Trans brake and line lock.
- Motorplate, midplate and driveshaft loop.
- 4 wheel disc brakes, strange front struts and ladder bar rear suspension with adjustable QA1s.
- Wilwood rack and pinion steering, Mooneyes gasser steering wheel with strange quick release, 15x18.5 fresh DOT Hoosiers
Engine
- Built 400 SBC, 12.5:1, gm block
- Forged internals - eagle crank & h beams, ross pistons
- Dart heads ported and matched to dart intake
- Solid full roller
- Nitrous fogger plate (never sprayed...needs bottle plumbed).
- Custom Holley 950dp.
- MSD 7al ignition, Dedenbear RPM2 rev limiter and two step
- Twin Holley blue fuel pumps, fuel cell
- Big 4 core radiator with dual electric fans, and a transcooler with its own fan. Runs cool watertemps!
Comes with hedman 2" primary fenderwell headers but I never got around to fitting/installing them. Will probably need work on roll cage to certify for sanctioned racing. Car is all original steel and glass, and all lights and indicators are functional. Motor was gone through around 3 years ago but only had about 1k miles since new. Never raced/dyno'd, but transfers flat and leaves straight. There's a slow drip from the oil pan gasket that comes and goes but nothing is obstructing path to the pan, so the swap will be easy.
I love this beastly boat and planned to eventually make it a turbo bbc strip monster, but other projects/hobbies have stolen my short attention span and I could use the space. I also have a new Gearvendors overdrive I'd consider including with the right deal. Buyer is responsible for shipping. 1000 PayPal deposit required and wire transfer preferred for remainder. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Thanks for lookin!
