Description for Buick Other 1953
Hello, You are looking at my 1953 Buick Special. This car has the original Fireball inline 8 cylinder engine with the dynaflow automatic transmission. It has only 56,101 miles. It was driven from new until 1976 when it was then put in a garage until I bought it in 2014. That was 38 years put away. I then got the car out and made it roadworthy. The engine and trans and rear were never out of the car. All of the engine and trans and rear end are original. The engine and trans do leak fluid but the more you drive it the less it leaks. I did have a new "vulcanized" torque ball retainer installed but I think it needs retightened now. The engine could probably use a new rear oil seal. The original radiator was cooked and cleaned but did not do good in modern traffic, so I had a custom aluminum radiator installed and now it works great. It runs nice and cool even in parades. I have the original radiator and it is included in the sale. It has a brand new 6volt battery as well. The 6 volt system has always worked great and I never saw the need to change to 12 volt so I kept it original.Moving on to the wheels and tires: The wheels and hubcaps are original and the tires are newer radial tires with small whitewalls... I do have the spare wheel with an old bias ply tire that is included. Now onto the interior: The interior is original also but the seats had some small tearing in the fabric from setting so long. I found some neat vintage seat covers that I put right over the originals. They are a nice grey, silver, and black color. The headliner is still in very good shape but has 2 very small tears by the back window...still a very nice headliner. The dash is in great shape and is not rusty..the gauges are nice and light up..everything works except for the temperature gauge...the gas gauge sticks sometimes but works the more you drive the car. The radio works good as well. The steering wheel is original and in great shape..the horn works and is very loud. The rearview mirror is crystal clear and no rust on the metal. The sunvisors are in great shape and still has the rare make-up mirror on the passenger side. In the glove compartment is the original owners manual and transmission manual, a vintage antifreeze tester and first aid kit.Glass: The windshield and other glass is in excellent condition and very clear. The Trunk: The trunk is in very good shape with no holes or rot. It did have 2 small holes that were fixed. It still has the original pressed board all around the trunk bay. It has the original jack and it works great. The Frame and underneath has no holes or rot.The floorpans and etc have no holes or rot and have never needed fixed. The engine bay, firewall, and inner fenders have never had holes or rot.The body is in very good condition and has only had a couple small places fixed. I then had the car repainted about 3 years ago in an Emerald green metallic with silver roof and coves. The paint job is driver quality and looks very good...green was the original color when new.Chrome and brightwork: This is the part of the car that needs work. The Stainless Grill "Teeth" are in perfect condition with no dents or issues. The chrome parts of the bumper need redone. The hood ornaments and rear bumper need redone as well. I was going to have them painted the same color as the roof but have not gotten to it.This car is in good enough condition to drive anywhere. I would not be afraid of breaking down.I have personally ran this car on a closed road at 100 mph with no shakes or shimmies...it handled just as good as it does at 50mph, a real smooth runner. I have had it licensed and inspected for the road since 2014.I am selling my car because of a medical condition. I have to get a liver transplant and that is where all of my attention is directed right now. This is costing me alot of time and expense. I have to be realistic and selling this car will help me out. I had some of the parts off the car for the repaint but have not been able to put everything back together again because I spend alot of time at the doctors. All of the parts for the car are there. I have also had the top section of the door panels reupholstered and they look great. The fender portholes also have the extremely rare jet vents for inside them. It also comes with a newer car cover to keep it clean. That about wraps it up, any questions please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Please serious inquiries only no tire kickers or scammers, I don't have time for that. I don't need trades or any help selling it. This is a cash deal only. I am an honest man and I need to deal with straight up honest people. Please check my Feedback...Especially as a seller and see what people have to say about me.Payment due within 7 days.SHIPPING: is buyers responsibility but I will assist your shipper in any way that I can. The car is located in Ebensburg Pa. 15931 Thank you for your intrest
