There are over 50 photos above and below, as well as two videos of this car. This car still has its original drivetrain which has been completely rebuilt and restored. It now runs, drives and operates in what I can only imagine must be significantly better than when it was even a new car. This Buick has essentially been with the same family since it was new, and this is its story as I understand it: This Buick was purchased by a business in 1937 for use as the "shop vehicle". It was often driven by employee "Harry H. Sr" until he was drafted for WWII. He was trained by the Air Force on bomber aircraft to arms the bombs just before they are deployed. Apparently, this was a fairly risky assignment and the majority of these guys didn't make it home. Harry did see it through his hitch and when he returned home, he went back to work at the same company where he resumed his duties, which also had him driving this Buick again. When the company decided to get a new car in the 50's, Harry purchased this car for himself. He drove it a few more years, and in the 60's parked it in a warehouse... and there it sat for nearly 40 years. During this time, Harry passed away and his son, Harry Jr acquired the car. In 2008 Harry Jr was retired and decided to restore this Buick as a tribute to his father. He had been a machinist by trade and did most of the work himself, which took him nearly eight years to complete. He became ill in 2020, which is how this car came to us. This Buick has approximately 600 miles on the restoration. Since it was in storage most of it's life, it's been extremely well preserved. It's pretty easy to see what has been done, and here is a list of some restoration services, updates and modifications: - Full frame-off undercarriage restoration. The body was lifted off the chassis, and the frame and all undercarriage components were stripped and refinished. The frame appears to be 100% original without any repairs. Every nut and bolt under this car was replaced, and everything in the undercarriage was either replaced, refinished or rebuilt. The front end was also converted to adjustable air suspension. - The engine was completely rebuilt and upgraded. This car has the original Super-8, straight eight cylinder engine, which puts out 90hp in stock form. The rebuild of this engine included a mild cam and modern performance carburetor, and now puts out 110hp. It doesn't sound like a lot of horsepower but it also produces lots of torque, and the Super-8 is the very engine used in some Indy cars of the era. - Transmission overhaul with new clutch and rebuilt shifter linkage. - Rear differential rebuilt. - Brake system completely rebuilt. - New larger aluminum radiator installed, along with electric water pump, and electric fan. - Complete vehicle rewiring. Every wire and electrical component in this car has been replaced. - New aluminum fuel tank mounted in the rear. - Every seal, gasket, o-ring etc, in this car has been replaced. There is zero leakage or seepage under this car. - When the body was lifted off the frame, it was then stripped down. I see zero rust anywhere on the body of this car. When it was on the lift, we were able to inspect the backside of many panels to look for patchwork or body repairs, but found none. - The interior was freshened up with a modern front seat and carpet, and a few other minor modifications were also completed. Not being a bodyman, Harry Jr coated the exterior with a satin black with the intention of having it professionally painted later. The black has worn through in some spots, and you can see the red underneath which is the primer - not rust. There is no rust on the body. Harry Jr added a few sentimental touches in memory of his dad, such as the canon hood emblem, Liberator script on the side, and various other trim pieces that had some meaning to him. These are all removable, and this car comes with lots of extras such as original body ornaments, wheels/tires, lights, etc which are shown in the last four photos below. This is not a show car - but very easily could be with only a paint job. This Buick is a fully operational vehicle that can absolutely be driven right away without the need for any service, maintenance or modifications. ** This vehicle can be shipped by Car Carrier anywhere in the USA, and we recommend Honest Auto Movers who has provided excellent service to our customers for over ten years.
