Description for Buick Special 1947
This was an older restoration when we bought it years ago. Rust free as you can see from the underside photos and floor photos from the interior restoration shown in our pictures on the auction page.Since that time we have had the interior completely redone which included a new headliner, new carpets, new door panels, new windlace and trim, newly recovered front and rear seats and armrests etc.
We had the brakes and 4 tires all replaced as well as tune up and maintenance items replaced and new battery installed. We re-chromed the front bumper at Tri-City Plating. An electric fuel pump was added as well.
The car starts right up and runs smoothly, idles well and drives smoothly. The only thing we personally don't like is the standard shift transmission. Where we live, it takes the fun out of driving it to cars/coffee events and cruises. It works well, but the older we get, with all the stop signs and traffic lights where we are, we prefer an automatic transmission and that is the only reason we are selling it.
This is a great ' driver ' quality car that still shows well as is, or you can street rod it or bring it up to the next show car level. There are show plaques and extra parts in the trunk that go with the car.
As it is a 75 year old used car, it is sold as is, where i, with no warranties. Clean Florida title in our name. Car is parked at a friend's business and can be seen most anytime. Antique cars are ' mileage exempt ' as noted on the title and until I am in front of the car again, I do not recall what the mileage is on the odometer.
Nothing wanted in trade. We own more than enough cars and are selling off our manual shift cars.
